Certainly. Humans can fall in love with imaginary "people" and an android actually exists so...

Plus, I believe that androids of the future will be organic. Those androids will only differ from "real" people in the way they were created.

Organic, really?

I doubt they'll be completely organic!

The big problem is creating an organic brain I guess, but that could be compared to an organic computer and scientists are already researching that!

I don't know about creating bones though...

Well, an android doesn't need bones to look human.

Who cares about falling in love. I just want holodeck where I can mount a different hot woman any time I want.

Well first of all why do we want to have androids to have human like bones

No need really!

Organic computer research, cool I'll be looking that up now!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

of course those phones are way cooler than sky bunny.

My kids cry over a favorite toy that got lost.  Yes, we can be come attached to an android.  Will the android become attached to us?

Absolutely.  The thinking machines of the future don't use subroutines and preprogrammed responses.  They are the next generation neural networks that think according to how they are taught, not programmed.  They will have independent thought and experience emotions.  There will be real moral battles over the artificial life forms we have created, which will be treated as second class citizen/slaves until the world government decrees that they also have equal rights.  Eventually, their superior ability to interface with computer and expand will outpace our natural evolution and they, our creation, will replace their creators.

How can you not love that?

Eve no Jikan (in English, Time of Eve) is a really interesting short series that considers just this: the relationships between androids with artificial intelligence and humans.  It raises some really interesting questions, and hints at some stuff about online relationships as well.
