Surely even in Japan the room size is relative to Tokyo and maybe other large cities with limited space and huge growth.

i still won't buy a kinect but as a commerical...quite good.  the little head nod thing kinect does at the end is just so cute.

I think you mean Nov. 20th as that's when Kinect releases in Japan.

As for the room size well it just depends on where you live. My gf's parent's house has a pretty big living room. My apartment is a bit small though, although I'm pretty sure I could get Kinect working fine. I have no problems with my Wii remotes being detected.

8 foot is optimum, 6 foot is ideal and 4 foot will work. Lots of caveats to those numbers as your height and positioning of the Kinect device will affect them.

Pretty good ad, could have been a hell of a lot worse

Pretty good.  At least it's not too cheesy.  I still find it looks way to much like you just just around and swing your arms no matter what the game is, but that's a minor quibble.

Honestly, I thought it was stupid and a bad advert. It barely shows more than 5 seconds of actual gameplay which shows how confident Microsoft is in there product. The whole commercial is essentially again women and children waving their arms and asses infront of a camera.

Like I said on Darths wall. I seen this commercial the first time last night and at first I didn't know what it was. But then I noticed that it was basically all women and children doing stuffthat made them look stupid so I said to myself. "Well if it looks that bad, it has to be Kinect." Sure enough I was right.

It also lacks a price in the commercial, so uhhh....yeah.

At least on the plus side it isn't as bad as 90% of the Wii commercials.
