Well the PS2 also had the best library ever.....not exactly trhe same scenarios going on here.  All other things being equal, the Wii should've had more sales, yeah.

I just didnt see people purchasing Wii's for a Kirby game when the is full fleged pokemon games on the DS. Also the Wii already has pokemon games in Japan that have sold around the half million mark

And what about the DS and its 30 millions userbase in Japan...

That in japan every family member  all can have a DS or PSP ,just like a mobile phone...But every family will buy only one or two consoles like PS3 and Wii .Anyway,now PS3 add Wii haven't touch PS2 and PS's sales,so there isn't the time to finish this gen by now,all consoles,including X360,will continues to grow until 2012(IMO) :D

You can't compare that.

Typical household will usually have just 1 console, while there might be several portables per household.

And wow i was thinking Wii and ps3 will be close to 20k with slight adventage for one or the other.

You forgot that PS2 had several model and Wii not.

Many of these 23M are just switch to new models.

Like PS2... Japoneses buy almost all models... DS, DSi, DSi LL.

Wii had only one model so far.
