Forums - Gaming - Fallout New Vegas Reviews in...

I've played it for 3 hours now and here's my take on what's been said. (p.s. I'm playing the 360 version with it installed to my hard drive.)

- About 5-10 seconds loading time to go into a building or outside

- Occasional bugs/framerate drops but nothing even close to gamebreaking. The worst I've seen is a few of the enemies getting stuck in the ground

- The game does freeze, it froze once on me and that's actually why i stopped playing. Good think I'm a compulsive game saver.

- It is very similar to Fallout 3 but they made some cool new additions. There are more guns, you can put attachments on your gun (still gotta figure out how), there are different ammo types (hallow point, armor piercing, etc), and there is a reputation system along with karma. Those are what I've noticed so far.

So its a great game people. And I'm sure it will be patched before too long to fix the bugs and freezing. If you loved Fallout 3 its a definite buy.

I don't understand how you people can play an RPG without a keyboard. There are like 4 buttons on the console controllers. Lol.

Play Demon's Soul and you will understand.

Anyway Demon's Soul is better than Fallout, Mass Effect and Dragon Age IMO (I think it's the best RPG I ever played).

Gotta  respectfully disagree, I found Demons Souls very boring, with virtually no story line there was really no reason for me to keep playing.  It was the same thing over and over with no real goal to accomplish other then finishing the game, which didn't mean a hell of a lot with no story lol

My opinion. Demon's Souls had a great story but not in narrative form.

But the best is it gameplay (especially online)... amazing.

The best RPG of this generation

Eh, Bethesda isn't terrible for patching so the technical issues should get fixed.

I'm looking forward to this sometime in the future.

COUGH.

Two years after release, there are still gamebreaking bugs in Fallout 3. I encountered one, and it completely ruined the experience. I was far enough in that I wasn't about to start again. It's the one with Three Dogg where his door is locked after you put the satellite dish on the Washington Monument.

You can still load an older savefile but it is still gamebreaking though side quest or not.

And I guess a lot of Fallout 3 players did the mission.

its not a sidequest.  its part of the main quest.  but you dont need to do it.  my first playthrough i didnt even know about it.   the quest activitors for some of the main quest exist in the world regardless of your progress.  you can skip a bunch and head right to the VR vault even.

as i recall, he could just head down to the air craft carrier, activate the next quest, and it will  complete the previous quest.

Oh I see, Always thought it was a sidequest :).

An 85 is abysmal now? What the hell?!

On topic; Bethesda, please, give us Elder Scrolls V already!!!

I have been playing new vegas very heavily since the midnight launch and I haven't encountered anything I would say was a bug. I did see one ant walking sort of backwards and half on it's side. Most of the reviews mention long load times I don't notice a difference between the load times on vegas and on fallout 3. I did intall both games so that may help with the load times not sure. I like some of the little addtions and I love the Hardcore mode makes food and water actually mean somthing. So far I think it is a better game than Fallout 3.
