Hrm, those DK numbers kinda suck. Did Nintendo start advertising NSMB around this time last year? I hope so, for DK's sake

Nope. Mario is just a bigger franchise than DKC (much bigger). NSMB has done 16 million in less than a year, I don't expect much beyond 10 million lifetime for DKC, but that's still a huge amount!

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Even if it were much bigger, pre-orders doubled with 6 weeks left (from ~75 to ~135k). I thought something must've happened to raise awareness for the game, since that's pretty huge (DK was even up until then)

Man...no one will buy Vanquish.

Pretty good GT5 numbers. If it can continue adding 12k per week until it finally releases, it should open at 20 million in NA alone.

Just imagine what would happen if the pre-orders jumped to 15k per week until release SALES EXPLOSION!!! but i'll just wait for you to do the math because you seem better at it than me!

Let's see... 15,000/week x 1,647 weeks = 24.7 million! Wow!!!

Wow indeed...

Good sir

Someone mentioned they thought Microsoft was sending Fable 3 to Die. Have you seen the Fable 3 commercial? It's fantastic, and the rest of Microsoft should use whatever Marketing team the game guys do. I saw it over a dozen times over the weekend.

Geez... Fable could do a million week 1. I'm a bit puzzled as there doesn't seem to be any hype and Microsoft is being tight-lipped on the details, If we didn't have this chart I'd be certain it's being sent out to die while they focus on the Kinect launch.

New Vegas preorders > Fallout 3 first week so Bethesda will be happy with that.

Are you talking about Americas only? I dunno if you know this, but Fable II did a million week 1 as well. I'm going to hazard a guess that Fable III's preorders are well above what Fable II's were at this point.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Great GT5 preorder.

No release date and 225k.
