VGC DID undertrack PS3 by a substantial amount, as seen from this weeks adjustments.

Are you saying you dont trust either the PS3 or MOVE numbers that VGC indicates? I cant see how else to interpret your comment.  Or are you being sarcastic and showing that you accept both?

My thing is, when Sony said they sold 1.5 million Move, people can't wait to question it, but Sony saying 38 million is alright because it's less than that VGCHARTZ shows, although te OP probably doesnt know Sony always use their previous shipment numbers anyway.

im going to believe them they cant even spell sell-through?

no one said shipped equals sold

people were wondering why ps3s sold were way less than shipped even when compared to the other 2 and with all the reports of ps3 shortages from jan-may and by  recent vgc adjustments it looks like the problem is near solved

Yet VGC had been undertracking the PS3 when it was pretty obvious due to the countless reports from pretty much everyone we heard from of shortages that Sony didn't stuff the channels.

Thankfully ioi got new data and the adjustments were made finally.

I most definitely agree. At least VGC is open about their adjustments, unlike NPD adding or taking away sales from future months. It annoys the hell out of me when ignorant people on N4G and other sites say "lol FakeChartz. The real sales are *insert shipment number here*"

which is what I said earlier in the thread... that is is almost certianly the earlier shipped number.

so you agree they are both shipped numbers then.

I do think they are both shipped numbers which also means Move is doing very well.

The VGC numbers pretty much agree with NPD over the longer period.... its canada that has caused the adjustment.  so your reasoning is off I'm afraid.

 

Not really.

We had the news of shortages and yet apparently there were still tons of PS3's on shelves which was just wrong.

Adjustments happened. PS3 was adjusted up. VGC had undertracked the console and pretty much everyone who cried "Stuffing the channels! D:" was wrong. Yet with evidence that we now have from the adjustments, people screaming "Undertracked D:!" were right.
