Said the following:

OTOY is a "Network" of super fast computers, they work together to make a picture like this, you dont have to install anything, you just need a fast intenet because it works over the internet, and its nothing else like a stramed interactieve video. this is the reason why you can play the whole thing on any device with internet connection like a phone, or probably a tv reciever with a webbrowser, the psp, the xbox, ps3, a small micro computer???

this is the reason why they make it.

Which means, yes, it could be done this gen if you have a super fast internet connection and if Rockstar decides to make GTA V that way :P

I could even play it in my crappy laptop if I had that kind of internet connection...

(That is assuming what he said is true :P)

But I'd rather have a physical copy of my games and play them on my own hardware :P

Yeah it is pretty much the future, games being run at computers elswhere with you gaming over an internet connection. It's called ''cloud computing'' and more and more company's are already using software this way.

The way things are going right now the next gen of home consoles could very well be the last.

This good enough? (Yes I'm quite aware that the game got canned, but it was a beautiful demo).

I'm still bummed that game got canned. I have no idea why, they sold multi-millions on PS2

I really hope that doesn't happen because I like collecting games and playing them on my own hardware...

Besides, I can't even play a 1 minute 360p YouTube video without having to wait for it to load for like 5 minutes xD If that's the future then I hope there'll be better internet connections available in 10 years from now (in my country at least :P)

A banner stolen from some site xD

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

That would be crazy, but no I don't think that is currently possible. Even if I have saints row, I kind of wish GTA would move back to fun, instead of graphics.

Agreed

Just make it fun like GTA:SA was and forget GTA4 ever happened.

GTA IV is so much better than San Andreas.

That would most definitely be next gen graphics there (maybe even 2 gens away)

that doesn't mean consoles will be extinct.

The "9th" gen consoles could simply be a big cloug gaming update to the "current" next gen (wii2, ps4, ...).

You can still buy your games and remain with the same hardware for "next gen", because now, hardware power doesn't count much, you just need good internet speed connection depending the resolution you want to play in.

I don't think GTA V is coming out this gen.

No it's not. The driving in IV is shit. Always. And since the driving in SA is perfect and driving is a big part of Grand Theft Auto. Well, that automatically makes SA better.

Also, CJ doesn't wander around wanting to look at BIG AMERICAN TITTIES! COUSIN!

Its called Onlive, Onlive will provide those (me included) with low-end computers the satisfaction to play high-end, graphic demanding games, at a cost from thier servers.

Yes and no.  If they developed a cloud network and the player had a reliable, fast internet connection they certainly could.  They could even make it for the Wii under those circumstances.  But as for playing it straight from a console, there's not a chance in hell.  Even without the extra demands of the sandbox format, the current consoles can't manage that on their own.  Not even close, outside of FMV territory.

You do not have the right to never be offended.
