According to NPD, Bayonetta PS3 sold slightly less than MadWorld in the US (60k vs 66k 1st months, and consider that Bayo had 2 more weeks of tracking).  I don't think Bayonetta bombed, but it was considered a relative disappointment outside Japan when sales watchers were looking at it's debut... a lot like MadWorld actually.  Platinum seems to be carrying the Clover curse imo.

What really matters to me... Is the following.

http://www.vgchartz.com/game.php?id=25465 - Bayonetta PS3 - 0.74M in under a year
http://www.vgchartz.com/game.php?id=25464 - Bayonetta 360 - 0.68M in under a year
http://www.vgchartz.com/game.php?id=22383 - MadWorld - 0.55M in a year and half

Just so you know, MadWorld has actually outsold the PS3 version of Bayonetta in NA by just under 100k. MadWorlds downfall though, in comparison to Bayonetta... Is mainly Japan.

It's worth noting that Japan was also the region where Sega refused to publish it, thanks to the Cero Z rating.  Spike eventually picked it up though, with little fanfare and zero promotion. :/

@lordtheknight my point remains is there are a few dancing type games on the Wii go to any game store and your going to see more games on Wii than any of the HD games, the problem arises in the type of games. Ninty only makes 4-5 games a year so its not those and you'll have to dig through five different deer hunter and 4 different Imaginez babyz to get to the core game can someone honestly not look at that scenario and not think to highly of Wii???

You got a point about the HDs and shovelwares, but I think your not giving them a chance. Move has just come out and there is actually more core games that use it than there are shovelware and future games that are coming are core games (heroes onthe Move, Killzone3, SOcom 4, the fight, time crisis, socery, etc.)  MS is going straight for the Wii crowd with their shovelware, but it hasnt even released so lets a least wait a couple months b4 we shout doom, at the end of the day it doesnt matter. PS360 has the 2 things Wii is lacking. power and 3rd party support, there are still a assload of games coming to PS360 that have nothing to do with motion control and they are far from casual as you can possibly get. Thats not even counting Sony's exclusive.  For better or worse the "casuals" dictate what goes on Wii since they are the majority, and they dont wanna play "core" games (outside of Ninty) I dont think Move & Kinect is going to change that, IMHO thats why we wont see as much shovelware for those 2 as you think
