Oh God, seriously already????!!!!

When seeing all of the components that make up the Move, I had a VERY bad feeling that we were going to see Sony reporting combined figures that honestly tell us NOTHING but make it seem as if the Move has a larger install base than it actually has.  And here. we.  are.

And now with no NPD public numbers, as someone mentioned already they start touting EU numbers that can't be substantiated.

Just when I started having more respect for the resurgence of the PS3, suddenly its 2006 again ...

Jesus Christ.

Read the fucking thread.

Why the hell would Sony EUROPE be talking about AMERICA!?

Use your head. Stop trying to troll.

I was starting to have more respect too..but some people can't get over 2006 still it seems :P

What happend in 2006? Sorry i just joined these forums 1 year ago

I have no clue. SONY priced PS3 at $599.99 and they thought people would work 2 jobs just to get one.

Some people just can't let go of the past, even when people who said these things no longer work with the company. It is like people sit around, wait for the perfect opportunity and scream out:

"Yeah, remember when Kuturagi said this? Remember when he said that?!"

Meanwhile they forget that these people haven't been there for years and it is now headed by different people.

Anyone who brings up 4 years ago gets an automatic "Oh jeez" followed by a facepalm by me.

ohhh the price. I thought it was sony PR overexaggerating numbers or something. I thought $600 was not too bad because I got what i paid for. Blu ray players were going for $1000 at the time. And imo PS3 has an amzing game library. And it cost about $800 to make. Bad for sony but good for us consumers

That does actually appear to be the case.  In Spain they've been tracking the Move Starter Pack alongside other software, and last week the Starter Pack came in 2nd overall while Sports Champions was way down at 10th.

It seems many here refuse to believe that the Move is actually selling very well.

It was essentially penciled in as a failure right off the bat since SONY wasn't going to spend hundred of millions of dollars on advertisement and instead opted for word of mouth to carry it along.

The fact that it is selling good on word of mouth alone is what actually what makes these numbers so impressive.

But they are spending money to advertise it.  Just not as much as some other companies, and it's spread out over a pretty lengthy period of time.

Just look at NA.  We've already had, what, 3-4 different Kevin Butler commercials for Move?  Even Sony's biggest games get a mere one.  And the Coca-cola campaign isn't starting until next month.

I don't watch TV, so I guess that explains why I thought there was little no no advertising.

I'll tell you

SONY DID make a few arrogant statements

but most of the press

took Kutaragi's statements and literally TWISTED them into something he never meant at all!!!!!

truly sad days in gaming history, but what was worse was all the dumbasses who listened and believed it.......

Agreed

As far as I'm concerned, one of the people I respect most in the industry will always be Ken Kutaragi.

And what an unfair end his reign came too.....PR Bashing against him for twisting his statements.....sad sad. He gave so much to us gamers and SONY to only be kicked out.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I know, but surely people buy *something* with Move. Unless you're suggesting they're buying it in large numbers just for the demo disc.

I guess old owners of RE5 and Eyepet might pick it up without a game, but I'm skeptical that's happening in large amounts.

That does actually appear to be the case.  In Spain they've been tracking the Move Starter Pack alongside other software, and last week the Starter Pack came in 2nd overall while Sports Champions was way down at 10th.

So the same thing in Spain as in Switzerland. I think the majority of people do indeed buy the starter pack alone. This is not surprising since Sony put demo units into stores and people start doing the sword fighting thing on them. Nerds know about the dedicated software but the general public seems to initially go with the Starter pack only.

LMAO @ the flop squad!

see what prematurely labeling things flopz get you? yup crows and damage control on your behalf.

OT: thats outstanding the fact that 1.5m was shipped IN EU ALONE and THEY ARE LOOKING TO INCREASE PRODUCTION is great news.

PS3 >>>> Wii in NPD this month.

Now I believe.
