By looking at what people actually buy? Wow, what a strange idea...

As I already wrote in another thread, the reason for a large difference in numbers is the simple fact that many (if not the majority of) people initially buy the Starter pack (comes without a game in EU) without any move-specific software. That is clearly the case in Switzerland, and was also reported here for Spain. So far, the big shops here get 10:3:2 shipments (Starter packs:Dildos:Navs) - Eye pets/individual cameras  aren't even on shelves here.

exactly. so the real question I think a lot of people are gunning for is how many people own move for there own system in europe? Not 1.5 million. The problem is that your not going to know because you got, buy this, buy that, add that. Anyone buying move is going to buy another controller, so right there splits the whole 1.5 million in half. Not only that but if you account for the navigation, it gets even more cut up. So what is the real sales?  Your not going to know! Sony and the media can spin the numbers anyway they want and they will. count on it.

I was just putting forth the notion that because of this huge discrepancy in the shipped vs. VGC tracked userbase figures, that the only other measure that we have available to us to support these numbers is the software sales.

who's the one with the conspiracy? You or VGChartz?I find it hard to believe a company that has been doing this for years has screwed up so bad. Each controller is counted as a sale, so 4 controllers plus 2 sub controllers in one house has turned into 6 houses owning it.  Maybe you should try on the tinfoil! Only people trying to spin the numbers would not think of this.

Im not even saying 1.5 is all SOLD I know its shipped, Im just making fun of the fanboys who said PSmove is a flop then we get some official numbers that are pretty good all of a sudden the excuse is ITS A LIE LMAO.

The surprising answer is Yes. This may be due to the demo kiosk set-up where people do the sword battle.

I can only report what I see, and I saw two simple things:

-ALL of the around a dozen people (all ages and gender) I actually saw buying the Starter pack bought no other software. Probably the sword thing is good enough for them (a.k. like the Wii who sold on baseball/bowling only initially). Subsequent move-specific software sales might trail Starter pack sales by several weeks.

-The "big" shops here got roughly 10:3:2 (SP/Dildos/Navs) units in the first two shipments (which sold out except for a few Starter packs). My guess is about 2-3'000 move units sold in Switzerland in the first 3 weeks.

My rudimentary guess is about 500'000-600'000 "move units" (which could be a single dildo for those who already have a camera) were sold in EMEA in the first month.

It's common sense that more then one person is gonna want to play move, It's kinda a casual thing.

Shipped is not sales and no products on the shelf is not the same thing. I see you choose to look at it in this way due to there situation.
