It works great for me.
As for the original topic: YES!!!! I've wondered why none of the streaming videos had 5.1 surround sound.
And getting rid of the disc is awesome as well!

I have actually two seperate devices to try and get my PS3 to work with my universal remote.
The first one was similar to the one you posted (except it was Nyko) and it was awful. Everytime I pressed a directional button, it though I pressed it twice. I wasn't the only one with that problem either, it was a fairly common thing. Plus, I hate having the dongle sticking out of my PS3 because then I cannot close my entertainment center doors.
The other device I tried was the Logitech BlueTooth device. It started out working like a charm but there was a defect with it if you had a certain manufacturing number, it would screw with your PS3 (I believe it made it so BlueTooth devices didn't connect all the time, I could be wrong though since it has been a while since I thought about it). Long story short-- I had that model and it didn't work.
I'm not trying to sound super negative but I'm just done using third party software to try and get my PS3 to work with my universal remote. I really don't feel like wasting more money on it when I've probably spent close to $100. The PS3 and 360 offer pretty comparable services so I'll just use my 360 for everything I can. With the update my PS3 will be better so when I watch HD movies I will use my PS3 but only until the update hits the 360 (which I assume will be with the Kinect update).
-edit-
And before anyone flips out:

is it?
I do fear this is a little off-topic, but what does it offer in particular (ahead of Sony's own quirocity?)

I only said it is because I'm in the UK and I'm only capable of accessing LoveFilm, by that logic LoveFilm is better than Netflix.
But I think it's roughly the same unless Netflix doesn't allow you to rent games and physical discs, not too up on Netflix, only thing people seem to go on about is the fact you can stream from Netflix.
What about Mubi guys? anyone heard of it ?

Yup. I use it (on PC). If I remember correctly it'll be hitting PS3 end of October, and if it works well I'll probably shift to using it via PS3 when at home. I'm note sure if it will be available everywhere, though.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
