@azreal  i appreciate your clear headed view and your opinion is valued BUT it was more than 5 mins and epic mickey is a platformer so what makes it different from Mario???? I can judge Mario from a quick preview but not a game in the exact same genre????  Final fantasy and Fallout are RPGs those are a completly different kind of play style

Epic Mickey seems to be a slower, more mellow kind of platformer that gradually opens up depending on player choice throughout the game. Mario, on the other hand, aims to deliver solid gameplay within the first 3o seconds, but Mario usually ends the game with the same moves he begins with.

Mickey is an RPG Platformer without anything to actually make it an RPG. No leveling or stats but it still follows the same basic formula as Oblivion, only with jumping.

I could compare Modern Warfare 2 with Fallout 3 and say MW is better because it has more exciting combat, a better range of guns and Multiplayer but that would be ignoring everything Fallout is trying to do.

And by the way, the paint and paint thinner mechanic is probably unintresting because it's an early level. At the start of Portal you spend you're time opening doors to the other side of little holes in the floor. It gets better

But its a demo. A demo of a game at an event should put you in an exciting position in the game who wants to play a demo where nothing fun is going on. When fallout 3 had the e3 demo they didnt show you the begining they showed off they battle mechanicsa nd the awesome guns, vats and the atmosphere.

Meh. I'm looking forward to it anyway

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

It's all a matter of taste. From everything I've seen (until I stopped looking, so as not to spoil the game) I'm quite certain I will enjoy Epic Mickey A  LOT. There will always be those who won't enjoy it as much (note that the OP didn't hate on the game, just didn't think it was the second coming), fair enough.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

It's an opinion, no need to bash it. From what I have seen of the game I always thought it looked kind of boring tbh and I fully expect it to have an HD port ithin a year too. But again it's all about personal preference nothing more nothing less. Let's just wait for the reviews for more detailed info

I just read the OP.

It wasn't all that.

I don't believe you even read the OP, much less gave it enough of a chance. Sure, it started linearly, and the graphics weren't great, but if you got through the first few lines, it actually became much more enjoyable at the end :P

OP is Rol's alt, right?

I saw Epic Mickey at PAX, never got to play it the line was too long and their were more important games to play. Thought not playing is one of my biggest regrets of the show. To be honest it looked like the trailers, I wasn't all that impressed either. But again I never actually played. But it appeared to perform just as well as the trailers showed, I decided to skip after standing in line for like 20-minutes I saw the whole demo played, then again I was never to hyped about the game to begin with.

The reason I regret not playing it is because I played other games I didn't expect to like but left the show wanting to buy them. Epic Mickey could have been one of those games but I just didn't give it the chance it deserved I left the line early.

For all of you who want to know I played it at NYC comic-con. Sonic Colors was playable, as was Captain America, Mvs.C3, RE5 with Move, DKReturn, Kirby, goldeneye, Okami for DS, KH recoded, FF14, other M, golden sun DS, Micheal Jackson experience, Dragonball raging blast 2, vanquish. So all of you questioning MY credibility did any of you play the game????

Well, you have to elaborate, man. The way you worded things in the OP was just awful. No offense, but that's the truth.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

no offense but

@mad55 it didnt put me in an exciting position thats the point. the game didnt just grab why is that so hard to accept??? I dont want to play a game that does not grab me and force myself to play it. Tried that with Naruto ultimate ninja storm that was the most bland game Ive played this gen, maybe ever

@huaxiong  in hindsight your right I could see how people would thing its a steatlh troll forum. should have mentioned comic-con right from the bat

@baddman  yeah its kind of hard to believe some one from NY with a working knowledge of  Manhattan locations would be unable to find themselves at the Jacob Javiits Center to attend one of the biggest entertainment conventions out there, even if the tickets were only 65 bucks.

anyone from the NYC area went to comic-con??? so people would know that they did in fact have a playable version of Epic Mickey and others there???
