"- No alternate story co-op similar to Resistance 2"

They are removing the best feature from the game, and you all start praising the next game.  IMO Insomniac can go **** themselves.   More people played this mode then the normal multiplayer by far.  This was the best feature of R2 and the best thing the series had going for it.  Insomniac just lost a sale from me, and i can tell you countless others.

F*&% yeah! Best R to date? Quite possible

and I LOVE the sound of the story this time around :D

Really? That mode was incredibly repetitive and when you played with guys way higher ranked than you you couldn't score any kill points because the super high ranked guys raped all the foes before you could kill them.I admidt it was fun, but it wasn't that special as it got old fast.

Also were is your proof more people played this mode, I don't think many will miss it much.

The co-op in R2 was (IMO) terrible.  It had no story, it was just Horde mode for Resistance.

This sounds so much better.  It sounds more like the single player campaign that friends can jump in on (as other story characters)

Campaign co-op > separate co-op.  It's the best way to enjoy a new game to your friends.

The direction they're taking the story sounds absolutely awesome as well.

And, most importantly, JStevenson confirmed on gaf that the weapon wheel is back.  HELL YEAH.

The separate co-op mode was a fairly bland, repetitive, and unexciting experience.  Focusing on co-op for the story mode is a much better use of their resources, in my opinion.

It seems that's how Insomniac feels as well:

"All about focus... we determined early on we wanted to focus on certain things and make them the best possible. Moving co-op back into the campaign helped us do that."

My proof is from owning the game and looking at the play lists of people playing the game.  And i don't see how it was repetitive.  Each map had around 5different versions, and each game consisted of different skilled players and classes making each time new and unique.  At most a max character would average  3 times the score of a new character, which is not really that high.

And you trust the people at Insomniac to determine whats good for their game,  look at all the features and modes removed from RFoM to R2 in the online competitive mode. They removed all the great stuff from the first game and gave us shit in that department.  They got lucky with the online co-op and created something fun and now they are removing it.

Maybe it was bland, repetitive and unexciting due to your lack of skills and the players you played with...

Actually, if you played with me, chances are you wouldn't be first.
Seriously.
I'm not trying to say I was awesome, but I really was (Okay, I am trying to say that). Even when I wasn't that highly ranked (my characters weren't close to being maxed) I could still dominate the score. Sometimes, it was so bad that I got the most kills as a medic, or I got almost 300 kills as a Spec Ops with over 100k points, and the nearest person had about 30k points. Even after they lowered the xp as a medic, I could still come out on top easily. With any class, actually.
That only got worse as I leveled up. Granted, I didn't always come out on top, but I was pretty darn good at the co-op. I enjoyed it a ton.

That said, I definitely missed campaign co-op, as I had a blast playing through the first game with friends. While I'm sad to see R2's co-op mode go, I don't think I'll miss it too much, with the campaign co-op, the weapon wheel (best news EVER!), and the move back to a more R:FoM atmosphere (not bright and colorful).
