Nothing as it would look horrible on my LCD TV. I will wait for the next Nintendo console.

you must have a crap LCD then. Looks fine on mine.

on a side note, i haven't played any of my consoles in 6 months. That is what happens when you have a full time job and other things that take up all your time.

PS3 has Move now, which is the same thing as the Wii imo, the only thing is software, and i would only play Mario once, get all the stars etc, then never touch it again, theres a few other games. but imo these 3rd party titles will all be going cross platform, because of the poor performance of them on the Wii, etc Dead Space, the Darkside Chronicles, Cursed Mountain etc.

Virtual console? Do I get something free on it? No. You have to spend a lot of money for ancient games.

I never see people's problem with the VC pricing, it is far far cheaper than buying the games in physical copy.

Case in point: Sin and Punishment, on Ebay UK the cheapest one is £84.51 ($133.76, €96).  Meanwhile the VC version is 1200 points - £8.40 ($13.29, €9.54), assuming one gets their Nintendo points on the Wii shop channel.

Even for a non-import game, it is still great value.  Super Mario Bros 2 is generally going for about £13 ($20.57, €14.76) on Ebay U.K.  On the VC it is 500 points - £3.50 ($5.54, €3.98).

I really don't see why people make such a fuss about it all

Because you can get a modern game for almost the same price as those ancient games.  I don't really see why do you compare collectors items to dd-games. You can't even sell those vc games.

Well a lot of people tried to sell me vc games with their consoles when I was buying a used wii. That was so annoying. Like:

"I have a wii with 20 games for sale, only for 300€" ... and 15 or so of those games were vc games.

I bought a PS3 on launch and I have bought a Wii almost three years ago....

I bought Super Mario Galaxy and had some fun with it. I thought my wife would have fun with it, too. But after the intro she was kind of shocked... she found the story to be laughable, so i couldn't get her into it. Every time I put the game in she asked me to play Little Big Planet with her instead. She totally liked to customize her Sackboy...But it was quite fun (but the story is really laughable...). Maybe I get Super Mario Galaxy 2 too.

I bought Smash Brothers and we played it with some friends. But somehow we 4 all couldn't get into it and it became boring pretty quickly. I tried it out solo because I wanted to get Solid Snake but after some hours I gave it up...

We played Mario Kart (4 players again), but it was the same. We played some tournaments, but it was somewhat lacking. I must have played the hell out of Super Mario Kart back in the 90ies, it was so much fun. Mario Kart Wii just couldn't repeat the experience. Don't ask me why, but I also didn't like Mario Kart 64 either...The old one is still fun, though.

Wii Sports/Wii Play.... that games were like Eyetoy. The first hour is quite fun, but it gets old after the first day. I showed the game to some friends and we played together, but those games are just lacking depth. If they hadn't been packed with the console/second WiiMote I surely wouldn't have bought them.

My main problem with the Wii is, that Motion Control is getting annoying after some time. Whenever it is optional, I use the classic Controller instead. Fifa 09 Wii ... Shoot = waggle...

Damn, if i read my post it almost sounds too negative. I really liked my NES back when I was a kid, and the SNES had some really awesome Games, although Europe didn'gt get some JRPGS...Super Mario World and Zelda 3 where among the greatest games I have played...and I bought the remakes for the GBA. Secret of Mana, Actraiser, Terranigma... nostalgic...

What I really like about my wii is the Virtual Console. I played Secret of Mana, bought Super Mario RPG (First time available in Europe!), Donkey Kong Country and some other Games, that were not reissued on GBA before. That was one of my main reasons why I bought the Wii. The other was Square-Enix releasing Dragon Quest and some other stuff on the console. ... Hmm, maybe I am one of the few people who didn't buy the Wii for Nintendo Games... In Fact, I do not like the way Nintendo is heading. ..

There are good games on the Wii. But after playing Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain, Uncharted and Heavenly Sword it is hard to go back to the Wii. Someone said before that the Wii is not going Hollywood and that Gameplay>>>>>>Story/Presentation.

For me the Story is the most important part of gaming. Gameplay is interchangable and after twentysome years of Gaming you almost have seen everything. I wouldn't go back playing Fifa98 if I could play Fifa11...but I am glad to go back playing Final Fantasy 1-12, Super Mario World or Link to the Past. It is the Story that makes a game unique. And maybe that has become my problem with Nintendo.

Well, in Europe Nintendo has the strong Aura of Kiddy Gaming. My niece (6) and my nephew (4) already got their own DS and have much fun with it. There are practically no pure gaming stores in Austria, so you have to buy them in Department stores. And if you browse through the shelves you can almost only find kiddy games. I searched through the whole Saturn and was unable to find a Copy of "Dragon Quest Swords" or the Chocobo game.. Impossible to find, I had to buy them via Amazon.

Hmm, another strong point is that the Wii is almost free of that "it must have online gaming" craze. I enjoy single player experience and offline coop.

Hmm. If there were more story centric games (like JRPGs) and less focus on Motion Control (or better total lack of) I would definitely spend more gaming hours on my Wii (I played maybe 100 hours in almost 3 Years...Ouch). That, and that my wife always laughs at me when I start the Wii up. Its kind of ironic, because I thought that she would like the Wii more than the PS3 and that I could play the Wii Games together with her. But in Fact she only wants to play the PS3 with me (Resident Evil 5, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Lego Games, etc.).

In Fact, that Wii Controller is the reason why I would pick the PS3 Version of a game if I had the choice between Wii and PS3, even if the Wii would cost € 40 and the PS3 € 60. But I am not getting the PS Move either, so that is not a Nintendo bias. I just tried motion gaming and it fails to deliver anything to me. Even to think of a motion-controlled only Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts gives me the creeps.

Sure, the Wii sells millions of games. Super Mario Bros on the NES deserved to be one of the top selling Games...it was a masterpiece. Wii play is just a bunch of minigames and wii sports is not much better. I somehow fail to understand why people are so excited about those million sellers. Wii Party will not be much better. When I think of the PS1, I think about games like Final Fantasy 7-9, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Spyro, Crash, Gran Turismo,  etc... Games that really deserved those sales because there was so much depth in it. Nowadays there are some cheap minigames in the Top 10 of the Wii and so many people are going crazy about those sales figures and how they "smash" their competition. Quality just doesn't equal quantity.

I hope you guys can enjoy your Wii more than I. Have fun with it. Well, maybe if I have a child someday it could enjoy the Wii more than I can, but that could take 6-10 years (has to get born first and then some time until it would be old enough for gaming) from now on. But I am sure that my Wii will still be functioning in 10 years, I suppose. My first 60 GB launch PS3 YLOD on me last month... (on September 11...)

@antabus  the VC pricing is retarded, period. 8 bucks for a SNES game??? WTF the PSN games are 6 dollars! and Sony actually supports that service at least in US/Japan. 5 dollars for a NES game??? and SNK WTF??? 9 dollars for one of your games when I can go to a mom and pop store and pick up a compilation for 15 bucks, how the hell does that make any sense???  it should be 3 dollars for NES, 5 for SNES/GENS, SNk can do what the hell they want cause i can get all those games on VC for dirt cheap, the only pricing thats fair is N64 games and surprise we dont see too much of those

Online games that were better than what were out now. And graphics also so i doubt i would ever buy 1.

Having just been in a position of where I could either buy a 360 or Wii to put next to my current PS3, in the end I went with the 360.

Why?

Well, games wise there are a few on Wii I like and wanted it for, namely Mario Kart, NSMB. Might be a couple of others, not many though. But wasnt many on the 360 either, not that I couldnt have just got on the PS3 anyway.

The first reason, and big one. HD. Yeah, I also just brought a new Full HD TV and tbh, I want to take of advantage of what my TV can offer, and a Wii doesnt use it to the best its capable of being a none HD console.

Second reason, joypads. Im not a big fan of the waggle stick gameplay. The main game I wanted for a Wii if I got one, was Mario Kart. But I would also want to play it on a joy pad, not the normal Wii controller. Plus I would want to play it mulitplayer. This meant more than one (proper) controller, and also from my understanding atleast, to use that controller, I have to plug it into the normal Wii controller which goes to the Wii. So I would need to buy 2 controllers, and another Wii remote stick thing, which are pricey enough alone.

Third reason, games. Though both had games I would have liked, the Wii has very few (if any) of interest coming out in the future. Not saying it doesnt have good games coming out, just none to my taste.

Forth reason, mulitplayer. Dont like the sound of how the Wii handles internet gaming, such as having buddy codes and stuff? why not just a normal friends list?

Fifth reason, not really related to the Wii though. My brother has a 360 and so do a lot friends, so with that I can play with them, and play my brothers games (which he buys alot of). No one I know owns a Wii.

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

It looks like crap on my plasma, and no it not crap. I've seen my wii on a standard def TV and it looks better on the SD than my HD.

Yea. I bought Genesis collection for 12€. 40 or so games on a disc so I can sell it if I like. That is the right price for these ancient games.
