Forums - Website Topics - neg/pos feed back for posts

I have seen on several forums where you can give a post a thumbs up/down depending on how you veiwed it. I think it could come in handy around for those times that you agree with a post but really have nothing new to add. You could give it a thumbs up, and same for the flipside if you just disagree you can give a thumbs down.

Around the Network

this has been sugested about a million times. I don't think we either value it high enough to impliment it, nor do we think it would go over well with the 4 warring factions (PC, Ninty, Sony, MS)

I do like the thumb up (no thumb down) system on another website I visit and sometimes wish it was here too, but generally don't care.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I actually like the idea of a thumbs up only better. I kind of thought it might be a problem cause of "the warring factions"

This has been shot down so many millions of times...

The issue is that you click "agree" when you agree with the content rather than when you think it's a well-written post. In a thread about GT5 impressions in a few weeks, one person could say "GT5 IS AWESOME I LOVE IT" and another could say "I personally find Gran Turismo 5 overrated, for these reasons: x, y, z... but it's still a very good game", and while Post 1 has little worthwhile content, because it panders to common opinion, it will have a much higher rating.

The system would do nothing except divide the user base. It's not a reward for a quality post. Just look at (ugh) N4G.
