Forums - Gaming - Uncharted 2 & Heavy Rain inspired some work on Fable III

Interesting! Cliffy B also raved about heavy rain and i can't' remember exactly who but another big time developer said they couldn't wait to play Uncharted 2 when they finished up there game ,similar to Valve saying they banned there people from playing Bioshock  till  they had finished up on what ever game they where making at the time  looking at it as an unopened  present.

The respect and admiration also works the other way, just look at Naughty dogs credits to see who they turned to to help with the mp on Uncharted 2.

I will pick up Fable 3  but have to admit to becoming a bit tepid  about the series.

Anyone picking up Fable III?

Hell yeah, Heavy Rain is amazing, and Uncharted 2 was pretty good too, and I freakin' love Fable so of course.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Anything being inspired by Uncharted 2 can only be a good thing! :D

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Shit. They are smart. They made it sound as if any Sony fan should try Fable III out. I hate him.

I'm keeping my expectations really low for Fable 3 as I loved Fable 2 but found the game ended right when I thought it was starting to pick up. To do this I haven't been keeping up too much with what changes they've made to this game, what's included, what's been ditched, etc.

I think the Fable games get a lot of bad feedback for attempting to be off-beat and unconventional. I personally love walking into a town and having people clap and cheer or run away screaming in fear. It's nice to see your decisions affect the game world as a whole and not just some tiny variations in the end level or cutscene. I also love the British charm and humour. Having said that they removed too much depth from Fable 2. Sure it's not trying to be an unconventional RPG, but the melee combos were lacking, magic spells were lacking, and the missions weren't all that diverse.

I'd love if they took some inspiration from Assassin's Creed 2 for combat mechanics and Red Dead Redemption for community interactivity (random people asking for help)... and both for mission variety. Would make the world feel so much more alive. I'm also interested in how the whole ruling thing plays out.

I'm also glad to see the great spirit amongst "opposing" devs. Shows some real class in an industry full of mud slinging.

Speaking to CVG, the Microsoft-owned studio's senior design director Josh Atkins revealed the two games that were the biggest influences on the development of Fable 3 - and they're both PS3 exclusives.

I bet Fable 2 was a pretty big influence as well, but that's beside the point.  It's nice to see some developers rise above the fanboy wars and acknowledge each others success.

I'm pumped for Fable 3 and will definitely be there release day to pick up my LE.

umm interesting still not getting Fable 3, as i love number one but was very disappointed on number 2

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

well i'll be getting the PC version

Of course I'm getting Fable III! Now I just need to decide whether or not to get the limited edition. I know I'll probably get release date shipping, which is something I almost never do.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's not even a PC version of Fable II.
