No, actually, it isn't. Famitsu pretty much hands out perfect scores like candy. I don't think I've ever ever seen a score below 33/40 from them.

i have seen a few under 33 and a 36 is great dude.

Famitsu gives out lots of low scores. I don't remember which game it was, but I believe I saw a 2/3/4/3 (12/40) a few years ago.

And everybody should understand that Famitsu doesn't do full-fledged reviews. It's just the combined score of 4 editors. They all write 2 or 3 sentences about the game, slap a number on it and that's it. Famitsu scores are in no way comparable with in-depth reviews of Western standard.
