Forums - Sales - Ubisoft announces Prince of Persia HD collection for PS3

Ubisoft has confirmed a Prince of Persia HD collection will hit PS3, after being long rumored and outed by numerous retailers.

According to various sources, the PS3-exclusive collection will include PoP: The Sands of Time, PoP: Warrior Within and PoP: The Two Thrones on one Blu-ray disc with 3D enabled.

It’s slated to hit Europe on November 19 for £29.99.

Sorry US, it’s a European-exclusive.

All three titles will be fully remastered and the game disc will hit around the 30-hour gameplay mark.

Nothing makes sense about this. It's only in Europe and it's only on PS3?!! Why? Don't they like money? Honestly, there is no concievable reason to not release this on Xbox 360 and at least North American if not the whole world. Stupid Ubisoft.

i suppose it's because they can't fit 3 games on a single DVD and Microsoft charges per DVD for Game releases.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Plus, the entire idea of remastered hd classics has so far only really existed on Playstation. (With the God of War Collection and soon enough the ico collection, etc.) So I wonder if

A. Sony has exclusive rights to such collections in HD with newly added trophy support

B. Microsoft and its strict rules about exactly how games must be made dont allow for hd collections

C. It really is about the space on the Blu-Ray's and there simply isnt the proper allocation on DVD/DVD's to make it cost effective.

Regardless, It is strange that it appears to be a Europe exclusive. I will buy it anyways since PS3 games are region free.

I'd pay for SoT for 360 but that's about it.   You just can't find the first xbox game anymore, it's already backwards compatible and everything between SoT and FS is not worth re-buying for me.   Maybe they'll do a single re-master and upgrade like the one announced for Beyond Good and Evil.  Hope we'll get some good news for our side.   Meanwhile I'll just turn green with envy.  It'll match my green-tinted glasses.  Good news for collectors I guess but this isn't going to revive the franchise or help Ubi's bottom line much.   Surprised they had time to start work on this with Just Dance 2 and AC:Brotherhood coming out.
