Isn't that second DLC coming out soon for Wake? Must rent it...

I also think Metro 2033 looks great on the 360. It also looks phenomenal on the PC with right hardware...

lol i knew you would say something along the lines of that.

Well I played it all the way thought the second time on PC just cause of visuals. The gameplay is kind of meh (7/10 IMO) but the very end with the hallways and squares re-aranging...was worth it. :)

Alan Wake was great, so was Metro 2033. I just wished both could have been kept under development for a bit longer. Alan Wake had the potential to be amazing, but it has a few serious issues that hold it back. Metro 2033 is the most underrated game of the year, it looked great, played great and the only issue I had with the game was that the AI gets really stupid sometimes. Both had the potential to reach Uncharted 2, Mass Effect 2 levels of greatness, but that's what sequels are for anyway.

Splinter Cell: Conviction was the best in the whole series (I didn't like the others), it was just too short and I don't play multi-player on the 360.

Your not missing out much anyway, the multiplayer is spec-ops missions and dont think at any point you play against other players which kills it really. My first Splinter Cell game and the campaign was worth it. That one level where you were a different character could have been done better, sticking more to the stealth approach rather than trying to be a TPS.

^Totally agree.  When I first played Alan Wake, my GF and daughter were staying at her mother's house.  I got so scared that I had to turn the game off

*d21lewis loses 10 points of manliness* :(

I didn't get scared of the game!  I got scared that I was missing football.....err....that my beer supply was running low....umm. that my Ford Thunderbird's engine needed rebuilding!  Yeah. That's what it was.  I remember it perfectly!

Lol, don't be worried about losing a few man cards.  I've been subjected to every episode of Sex in the City due to my girlfriend, and I think I may have actually enjoyed a few of them.  Egads.

By the way, what would be your top ten list this gen?  I'm intrigued.

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

just picked up alan wake and graphics are ridiculously good. i highly highly recomend the game if you havent picked it up yet, story is fantastic as are controls and its clearly amoungst the best graphics on xbox 360.

standout in game imo is the lighting its dark gloomy and overall comes across as having a survival horror kind of atmosphere, terrific game and well worth buying.

Thank you, I recently played through Alan Wake and I was stunned as well at how amazing that game looked.

I was so hyped for this game, yet I havent bought it

This always happens to me because I have too many back-log of games to play left,

Dont worry.....soon very soon I will play with you Alan!!!!

Yep, I was. I couldnt remember its name, although I knew it was from the gulf war.

Yeah at times this game is phenomenally gorgeous but as others have said there's a few instances where its not so much.

That being said story wise Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of ALL TIME.  Its an incredible story.

Also if this game doesn't see a sequel I'm setting something on fire.  Its way too good with way too many questions left to let die.  As long as it hits 1 million LT sales though I think it should see one, and right now 1 million looks very doable for Wake.

We'll figure out if it gets a sequel next week. If the DLC ends with "To be continued" it obviously will.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

If your going to buy the game used at least buy some DLC to support Remedy.

It's just that simple.
