Um.  I made a quick cut through to the site in question and made the thing so you could see for yourself whether you hated it, but as I was laying track the wool burned.  Maybe it was from the lava?  Through the glass ... somehow? 

Anyway, I need to figure out where the flames came from but first I have to do IRL stuff.  So, unfortunately you can't see it yet. 

[edit:  see, the track is normally on stone with wool next to it showing the "color" for the direction you're traveling and pumpkins in between for lighting, but through your thing I just made it track on wool so it would be smaller.  But I guess I could make it track on stone, and just forget the wool for that stretch, if it's going to keep burning on me.  :-/  ]

Minecraft wiki sez:
"If flammable blocks are within a few meters of lava, they will catch fire. The “embers” or “fireballs” which fly out of lava are purely decorative and do not directly cause fires."

So it would seem that there is no way to safeguard wool except by sheer distance from the lava, and I won't be trashing mor of goddog's place than I have to   Stone it is.

[edit:  Have added stone rail lines through the skylight.  Please inspect for horrible unsightliness.]

Farm Island station is up and running -- though all you can do is run out to the end of the built track (either direction) and loop back.  I got out through goddog's skylight and halfway back, i.e. 60-70% of the way around the entire loop, I think, before I noticed I was running out of steam. 

WITNESS THE POWER OF THIS FULLY OPERATIONAL BATTLE RAIL STATION!

Now I'm off to finish the main freeway line, then look at what stations to add next, in such a way that people can connect however they want to. 

Correction, I'm off to sleep.  goddog, please look at what I made if you have time and lodge any objections.

Just looked at the view from top of the tower and bottom of the level (slime junction). 

It's visible -- there's no mistaking that there's a two-way path bisecting the skylight -- but it doesn't, ah, destroy the view, IMO at least, but you're the guy who built it, so take a look and let me know what you think.

noted there had been some issues with login again last night. until i track down the issues i will be rebooting the server every morning around 9:45 am  same time as the back ups.it does not seem to be effecting everyone, nor is it consistent against load or network traffic. sorry for any inconvenience this is causing.

also more names for the server ... or ill sell of the naming rights. ;)

Okay, um, this is going to be weird. 

I was over by the glass storage spot in between the tree farm and Joe's resort, and I spotted a sand pit.  I was curious, so I dug up a piece of sand.  There was only dirt under it.  But I couldn't put the sand back!  I ended up digging one more to see if it happened again, and it turned out there was a boat somehow buried in the sand.  I had to break the boat to put the sand back.  If someone was running some kind of weird experiment, sorry.  That's what happened to it.
