Top Gear doesn't have 250 million viewers per week LOL YOU GUYS!

The most watched show ever is Super Bowl XLIV with 106.5 million viewers.

That 250 million is the number of people who've seen at least one episode of Top Gear since the beginning of the show (in 2002).

In the US only.  Way more people than that watch something like the Academy Awards worldwide.

"Its 76 million American viewers is less than the Super Bowl audience of 120 million, but the Oscars attract hundreds of millions of viewers world-wide in countries where American football is unknown."

Maybe but still, Top Gear is nowhere near that number weekly. I'm guessing it must be around 5-10 million per week.

I think the FIFA World Cup have a lot more viewers than Super Bowl.

Not really no. They said there was an average of 95 Million viewers per match for the 2006 cup. But it's super hard to track since it's being watched in some of the most obscure countries.

And there are some exceptions like:

The funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales was watched by 2 billion people.

The funeral of Pope John Paul II was watched by over 1 billion people worldwide.

The funeral service for Michael Jackson was watched by over 3.5 billion people worldwide.

No one cares of the FIFA World Cup here in Canada and in the US lol

Cool feature for sure, but why not do something like this a bit earlier?

It looks like it is timed to coincide with the release of the Forza 3 Ultimate Collection, which has all of the DLC included up until now. Definitely a good deal for people who haven't bought the game so far.

Maybe not per week, but there are 250 Million people who do watch it.

And you're wrong. That's only in the US.

The Eurovision Song Contest Final this year beat that alone. IIRC it had about 130 Million viewers.

The World Cup Final had 700 Million viewers.

The Barclays Premier League is watched weekly by over 1 Billion people worldwide too

And if we get into funerals... Well. They destroy everything.

I like how in Sonyville, everything Microsoft does is because they're scared of Sony. Some of you guys need to grow up and stop stealth trolling.

Microsoft obviously wants to combat GT5 in some way.  This is their way.  It should be quite obvious.  Microsoft isn't necessarily scared of Sony, but they do want a piece of the sim racing pie this year, so they do a re-release.  There really isn't any stealth trolling going on here.  Just people using a different choice of wording that you don't particularly prefer.

:| Me and my friends practically skipped half a university term to watch every single game.

No. It's a standard GOTY edition released a year after the original version and everyone comes into this thread to talk about how Microsoft's scared of GT 5, when that's not the case at all. I suppose BioWare is scared of Lionhead because they're releasing the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition the same day as Fable III right? It's absolutely ridiculous and nobody would like it if someone went into the Sony forums and attempted to do the same because of the hilarious double standards on this site. Contrary to popular belief on this site, not every decision is made to spite a competitor.
