Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo thinks 4 million 3DS will sell in a month, and 15 million games.

So why should I have to pay 150 for a useless feature that degrades everything? 3D is an over priced degrading feature. It makes movies look like shit, and I doubt this DS will do anything remotely better with 3D.

Again, referrring to your original post:

Your personal verdict on how much the hardware is worth is goign to have almost nothing to do with whether or not Nintendo meets their shipment expectations.

I don't feel that Nintendo will meet their forcast for the 3DS. I just don't see parents laying 300 bucks out for their kids for a handheld.

4 million hardware..okay...But that is almost 4 games for every 3DS sold that is a lot.  I think I never bought 4 games for one new console first month..

1. Shipment, shipment, SHIPMENT. This is about sold to retailers, not sold to consumers.

2. The damn thign is not going to cost 300 dollars.

Sounds about right. If they had 7M units im pretty sure they'd sell them all regardless.

Tease.

3. Nintendo handhelds aren't meant primarily for kids and especially during a system's launch the percentage of parents buying one for their kids is very small.

4. Most people don't despise Nintendo as much as you do.

I don't despise Nintendo. However I do despise 3D.

Well the price is not going to be that. The estimate came from people not properly taking exchange rates into account (as in thinking a yen to dollar conversion was all that mattered). $200-$250 is more likely. Of course that might still be high for you, and I can sympathize.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

$200 is fine, I will pay no more for a handheld though.

If they have 4 million available at launch I see no reason why thye wouldn't sell 4 million in the first month.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Then turn off the 3D and enjoy some awesome games.

Can you elaborate on the $150 figure and where that derives from?

Might I ask if you have actually used a 3DS or are just making assumptions regarding it?
