Wow a 7? the game looks great to me, but i thnk the should have released it in the Summer, with a score like that it might get over looked this holiday.

Scores don't mean shit...  and i said this billion times already

well I think, he was implying it would be overlooked because of score, and hurting the sales... Don't know if score affects sales... I'd assume a low score wouldn't help though.

But I agree! Besides mass effect 2 and maybe another I forgot... my favorite games  this gen are not metas in the 90's :P

MGS4, you forgot MGs4!

okay, I forgot that. I think it's number 10 though. sorry darth. :P

I don't put much stock in any review.

This game will live or die by its gameplay. Actual movement, platforming and combat need to be responsive and fun.All this BS about story and visuals mean nothing for a castlevania game.

If its a button masher like god of war, with QTE to open chests and fight bosses...Effin' Kojima indeed.

I guess it wouldn't be his fault...effin' Mercury steam!

skip them with the skip button :D

I don't really expect this to be like a castlevania game that much... it's like expecting 3D mario to be like 2D mario.

They just can't handle LORD KOJIMA'S epic storytelling.

They docked points because there mind was quite literally blown by Kojima putting Castlevania on the map BABY!

Boo !!! IGN gave them 7.5 too !

Whats the matter, IGN & GS ? Don't like a mash up between God of War, SotC and Uncharted ? How can anyone not ? This is absurd !

What 7.5 is a bad score since when I remember scoring like this WHATS UPON A TIME  IN GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY

  • 0-4= WT@ why would anybody make such a game.
  • 5-6 OK GAME for fans of said GENRE ONLY.
  • 7-7.5= GOOD GAME but with some flows that hold it back.
  • 8= GRATE GAME
  • 9=OUTSTANDING GAME that no one should miss
  • 10=ZMOG! PURE AWESOMENESS! this game is so epic my head just exploded buy it NOWWW!

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

Just more proof here in the UK we score using a more accurate reflection that anything above 5 is actually above average!  We're not taken in by US marketing hype and artificial mucking about with percentages to say 70% is average, etc. to skew titles to wow 90% plus territory.

Yup.  We're just really great - it's why it's called Geat Britain in fact.

Note - read with pinch of salt

Second note - I've only tried the demo, but it sure felt like a 7.5 title from that.  Other reviews are higher though, and it does look fun so I'll probably give it a whirl anyway.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Just read the IGN review. It is a beautiful game with responsive controls and elements found in Assassin's Creed. The drawbacks are:

  • Fixed camera. No camera control whatsoever.
  • No castle to explore; there are levels, which are replayable with previously inaccessible areas until you unlock certain abilities.
  • Button-mashing combat. At times there are puzzles to solve with the catch of endlessly respawning enemies slowing down your puzzle solving.

Aren't they the same game? Looks wise no, but gameplay wise its pretty much identical, other than for the hub world wich 3D games usually get.
