Forums - Sony - The reaosn why GT5 preorders have not taken off

I think one of the main reasons why GT5 preorders have not taken off is because of the lack of a console bundle for NA. I remeber a read something not too long ago that 33% of the people who want to buy GT5 don't have a ps3. Of course sony not massively advertising the game here in the U.S. might also be a reason but im sure as soon as sony announces a PS3 bundle preorder sales might jump a little.

Ohh sorry for the mistake in the title :(

Or it could be because it's had no advertising.

no advertising

You wanna have your opinion, then you have to respect different opinions as well.

For a game that is going to sell 2 million plus in the US LTD, how many pre-orders do you expect to be satisfied?

advertising or lack of is why GT5 pre-orders haven't "taken off" or meeting people expectations, I for one am not worried a bit about GT5 pre-orders.

I think we've all learned that you should never under-estimate PS3's software(U2,HR,GoW III are our reminders)

You'd think they would've bundled?

The console bundles tend to add the price of the game  &  You may get a small discount - depending on what extras the bundle includes..

The Halo Reach console bundle was $399.00  ($100.00 more then just a non-bundled ordinary XB Slim console ) - ...

It included the Reach console(299.00), the Reach game(59.00), but had 2 controllers instead of 1 ( 49.00 for the extra controller)  and a Reach headset (headset is around 20.00) .. which individually would've added up to around 450.00 dollars.. by bundling you saved 50 dollars.. but.. even considering getting the free extra wireless controller, a person still pays a lot up front..

It'll sell fine, I'm not worried about the mediocre pre-order numbers. I bet pre-orders in Japan and EU are huge.

Yeah, tell that to Mario Kart Wii.

"FPS era" has nothing to do with anything when regarding a series like Gran Turismo.

damn straight!

Its well above forza 3 when it released and that sold over 1.5 million in America. Once Advertising kicks in you'll see preorders jump. I expect 3 million in the US for GT5.
