if you want to get any use out of your xbox starting next year, you're going to need kinect.

Confirmed, all 2011 games require Kinect.

I'm just going by this list:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=116303&page=1

Which consists of Gears of war, KInect games and not much else. And I'm sure the ratio of real games to kincet games will only continue to widen.

Those are just exclusives. Multiplat accounts for a vast majority of 360 software sales.

Also, MS has so much coming out for 2010 already. They probably just want to focus on marketing that for right now.

Halo and Fable? Not exactly what I would consider "so much." And of course there is very little reason to get an xbox if multiplatform games are all you are going to get.

Seriously, I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. I'm not agreeing with the notion, "Kinect launch will be bigger." Perhaps the sales launch will be bigger due to supply issues the Wii had.

You said that it has people talking and people are excited about it. I'm saying not that many people are excited or talking about it. If they were, they would also be searching for it.

I'm not implying its the most Googled thing in the history of gaming. I'm just saying people are talking.

But just to get out of this discussion. I'll agree nobody is talking and the Kinect is obscure.

Halo, Fable, and this little thing called the Kinect that has a bunch of exclusives on its own.

While exclusives are a good reason choose a particular console, most software sales come from multiplat games on the 360 and PS3.

well this doesn't suprise me..

after they launched their "NEW BOX" they've been such a great company/sarcasm..

then again what can you expect.. Sony's just letting them gather all the hype, while move launches with barely any advertising campaigns.. compared to what was rumored at least..

No, this is square one, "if you want to get any use out of your xbox starting next year, you're going to need kinect."

That's just not true. Even if every 1st party game required Kinect (which won't happen), a majority of 360 games won't use it.

0_o....well I guess anything's possible....

Hmmm...

An acessory outselling a videogaming system launch?

Ok in that case I'm droping here wii motion plus first week sales (only from Wii Sports Resort):

1,262,489 units.

Good luck beating that microsoft.

Well that wouldn't be a surprise if they are investing in this like they have never invested before. We all know that MS is very good at advertising.
