I remember X360 OS used to get at least 2 major updates a year, everyone looked forward to the spring update. I can't even remember the last time we got one, NXE 2008?

Well they have been giving us new features the whole time.  Twitter, Facebook, the upcoming Hulu, Last.FM, etc.  There just hasn't beena huge update.  Maybe it's not necessary anymore.  I wouldn't mind getting one, though.  The NXE felt like getting a new console for free.  I miss that feeling.

Well, we're getting the update for the Kinect enabled dashboard this fall.  As far as the bi-annual updates, if it's not broke, don't fix it at this point.  The next major changes we'll probably see for the front end will come with the arrival of the next Xbox.  

well the kinect update is going to have use for the Avatars instead of them just moving their head and barfing , like others have said, i think MS is happy with the way it is now ,and are just adding apps to the OS, instead of changing it.

Well they had a big one last year with Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM

This year will be ESPN and and KINECT update (and probably some others)

It looks pretty snappy but I'm annoyed they still having gotten rid of that horizon effect that covers half of the wallpaper. The content looks more family oriented but I think the color scheme looks more like the old dashboard blades than the NXE which I kinda like.

Anyways, I get what you're saying. They used to say we'd get two a year but that just hasn't been happening. I guess we are getting smaller, "invisible" upgrades like more avatar items, avatar awards in games, facebook, twitter and the various deals with content providers. I'd personally rather have the big content updates. It just feels like you're getting more even if you aren't.
