You can't compare Halo adverts with............... well everything ,they're just too good.

Do you really have to try anything to know it's bad? I mean, Do you have to try rotten fish to know it tastes bad? Hell no, your logic thinking tells you it tastes bad.

You don't have to try anything to know if you like it or not. That's the point of reviews after all. You look in game magazines or internet pages and inform yourself about videogames. If a games gets horrendous scores, you most likely won't buy it, even if you didn't try it for yourself.

Those ads didn't impress me much but I know how Microsoft operates.  This is just one area of their assault.  We're going to be seeing Kinect on Good Morning America and Jay Leno.  We're going to see Kinect being played in Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 or whatever the next kiddie movie of the moment is.  We're going to see Kinect sponsoring sporting events like Wrestlemania.  And in the end, we're going to see Kinect selling lots of units.  M$ has this thing down to a science.

Who do you think these ads are aimed at?

i don't see the appeal these ads should deliver but that could be just me... the football (soccer) game seams interesting but everyone knows that a Cristiano Ronaldo free kick can't be performed in 99% of living rooms witch is sad since i believe i can score free kicks better than him!

Let's face it, these commercials are bad.  If I was a kid watching the first one I'd be like, "So I just wave my hands around and lay on my back like a dog?  I don't get it."  Kids need to see why these children are doing that in the first place, as well as see all the actions you can do and animals you can play with, to get excited over the game.  The second just makes the game seem like a chore, and something that only agile people could be good at.  The third one was a little better.  But still, without seeing how you are actually influencing the onscreen avatar, it just has this feeling of disconnect about the game.

Also, what's with the shitty, half-assed Bullet Time?  It just seems so, I don't know, shitty and half-assed.  I hope that's not going to become the theme for the rest of these Kinect ads.

The repsonses are hilarious from the abvious sony fans, good things these commercials aren't directed at them or really any of us.  MS seems to have the right strategy and only time will tell if they are right, these commercials seems to be headed in the right direction and I would specualte a very positive response from the target audience.

Not gamers who already know what Kinect is and have probably seen videos/read previews.  Especially not for the jaded ones or the ones that are MS haters.

These ad's purpose is to introduce that "You are the controller".  As for why not the BestBuy advertisement. Well TV advertisements are 30 seconds in length.  MS should get Kinect on QVC and I even think they should put out an informercial.  As for these 3 I believe that the Kinect Sports title is most effective simply because people will most likely already be familiar with actions of the sports.  Kinectimals was least effective, because I could see people wondering why the kids are falling down.
