Whatever CoD game comes out is likely to outsell it.  Especially if it's titled MW3.  Modern Warfare is huge and your average gamer doesn't know about the breakdown at IW.  Gears 3 is going to be awesome, but it won't be the biggest game of the year.

Uncharted 3 isn't even announced yet and when and if it does get announced for next year it won't come out till the holiday season. Gears 3 releases in April. There is no way in hell Uncharted 3 with 2 months of sales in 2011 could outsell Gears 3 with 8 months of sales. Uncharted 3 won't sell as much as Gears 3 in the first place lifetime.

Also, I'd love to see a new GTA in 2011, but I doubt it'll happen.  We haven't even seen a teaser for it yet, so it'll most likely fall into 2012.  Just my personal opinion.

I believe his list has UC3 listed under Gears 3.  Why are you arguing to agree with him?

Actually it's expected that Gears of War 2 outsells Gears of War 1. Both games are still selling, but Gears 2 is getting like 10-15k sales a week, and Gears 1 is only getting like 3-4k a week. The difference is only about 210k, and with the boost all games get this holiday, Gears 2 should be above Gears 1 by the end of the year, or worst case before Gears 3.

As for SOCOM, the PS2 interations may have been good, but they appeal to an American audience, and the PS3 has not been too popular in Americas. Also I think the last SOCOM hurt the games image, so I really doubt this game will sell well.

Zelda will outsell Gears easily. I reckon SS will have the biggest launch of any Zelda. The Japanese sales and stronger legs will ensure it makes 5 Mil by end of the years. Gears 3 will struggle to hit 5 mil

I think it will sell similar to the previous gears maybe less only because it's releasing in April as oppose to the holidays. So that might hurt it a little.

Well u bring up some good points and yeah i guess since gears 2 is goin to beat the original gears then the 3rd one could definatly take be the best selling of the 3 ... but Socom really isnt just american based as u said i have family in england and they play socom 3 all the time and i have run into lots of people from spain italy and france that play the original socom's but still i see ur point in how that most americans have chosen the 360 over the PS3 but im not gonna lie when u have people on there 3rd 360 already u can start to see that microsft isnt getting new people on there console there just keeping there harcore fans ... and many of my friends started off with the 360 but they are moving to the PS3 and i have to admit that i am one of those people.

SOCOM is more popular in the States then it is in Europe. England is the major exception as most people there seem to support american style gaming (CoD, Halo, X-Box 360 all sell in about equal proportions to other games/consoles in England and Americas).

As for 360's sale being affected by replaced units, thats partly true, but most replacements are under warrenty. I'm on my 4th 360, got a brand new HDMI model, all under warrenty. I even had the option to extend my warrenty, but meh, I heard HDMI models are reliable, and mine is holding up fine. System replacements under warrenty are not counted as secondary sales, and like you said a lot of people are fed up with their 360's and switch to PS3's, but that still would mean 1 360 sale and then a PS3 sale. I really doubt many people actually bought 2 or more 360's, unless they were super rich and wanted one for two different people in the house, or two different rooms.

Still the topic is SOCOM 4 being big, and compared to Gears of War, Uncharted, and Zelda....it really isn't.
