I didn't even know it was out until I saw the bundle at my local game store. Is that sad?

Nope Sony didn't put much money into marketing it on purpose. Wii mostly sold the way it did on word of mouth and people seeing it at other folks home and liking it. I think hyping something like motion controls is going to boost sales the first few weeks but after that it's all about people actually liking it for what it is.
Which is honestly where Move is benefiting right now. Many people are talking about it, it's sold out at many places you go, and the holiday will probably keep it going strong.
Hyping can boost sales by a ton though, just look at halo, an above average shooter selling millions on millions, I guess if you sell enough there are some people who think it's better then it is and praise it, or maybe they just think sales=quality, don't get me wrong I'm not saying halo is a bad game, I'm just saying it isn't a great game and doesn't deserve the sales it has
This is a Move thread but somehow you found a way to troll Halo:Reach. Congratulations. Just out of interest what would you consider a great shooter that is better quality than Reach? If you have even played it that is. I hope the word Killzone isn't typed in your response or I know you have no idea what you're talking about. Your opinion is with the minority. Reach does deserve its sales. Its every bit as good as MW2 which btw has sold more. Do you think the Call of Duty series deserves it sales?
I never actually said reach, and I never actually said shooters in general, but with that logic of yours that means shooters are better then every other genre because they sell more, when that obviously isn't the case, as for a game more deserving of sales then one of the halos, as far as shooters go I'd say bioschock (the first one not the second) and Mirror's edge, but since neither of those has multiplayer, I'll say Battlefield and Borderlands are more deserving then halo
You didn't need to say Reach. I know what you meant. I there is no way shape or form from my post you can interpret that I said shooters are better than every other genre because they sell more. I was quoting shooters because you trolled Halo. End of story.
Way to ignore my actual points to your actual points, and I didn't troll it, I used it as an example to how hype and advertisement can increase sales alot more then quality
Just for the record, Halo isn't all about hype, it's mainly the multiplayer that has made it so successfull. And a game never gets everything right, it's usually one aspect that makes it as popular as it is.
And i think that's the thing with Move aswell, it just needs one or two games that get something really right, like Wii did with Wii Sports(mainly the bowling game btw). And since the software will come over time, there really is no use in hyping Move with a massive markteting campaign right now. Looking at Kinect, many have already stated that Microsoft's planned campaign off up to $100 million is just ridiculous, since that means they could just as well have sold the first 2 million Kinect units for $99.
