I played this thing for 20 minutes and there wasn't anything remotly close to fun to be found...

Im with you on this one...

I was a big fan of Gothic 1/2 and even enjoyed some parts of 3 (not the game itself but some of the mods that went with it).

I will still be getting the game for the PC.  Not really for the game, but for the mods.  If you have a PC that can play these, there is no reason to look elsewhere.

I played most of it now. At least I think so because I am over 2 hours but the game keeps crashing hard (shuts off the comp, wth?). Im at the end of the dungeon with those spiders.

I liked it a lot at first. Voice acting was bad but the rest seemed very good. Nice atmosphere, fairly engaging story, accurate controls and cozy graphics, nice loot and stat system etc.

But one thing struck me. The combat absolutely sux. It's a very simple hacknslash. You swing the weapon 4 times, plause, swing it again 4 times and repeat. Extremely boring and so random. There's no strategy at all in the combat.

This is a very poor man's Oblivion. And the poor combat made me a little worried about Two Worlds II. I have such high expectations for Two Worlds II.

You got a point with that, but Gothic's Combat System was never really deep.

@Hard Computercrashing

did you look if your System is overheating? Had the Problem at first too, but then i cleaned the Coolers of my Computer, and voilà, no crashes anymore.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

Anyone else have the graphics pixelated and grainy like this? (make sure you watch screen in full size):

Does it happen in other games ?

Because this looks like video card either dying or having too agressive oc.

I'm pretty sure i didn't have such grains on my nvidia gpu.

Yes it happens in some other games but not in most games. It shouldn't be the GPU though because it's only slightly OC and is only 2 years old.

Every equipment can breake over years.

Imho try reducing clock speeds to default values and see if it still happens.

Sounds like magic but I will try it.

Try to overclock the GPU a bit more instead if less. Especially the ATi cards need a little tweaking to run some games. My card works a lot better clocked 15% than 5% on most games.

Played the 360 demo. Lotsa framerate hiccups. Graphics ok. Simple Hack 'n Slash/ lootfest. Will pick up when it's on the cheap - not full price.

It's not magic - those symptoms are very typical - either your gpu is too overclocked or it's preparing for it's last trip.
