In 2008 when the heavy hitters for both consoles come out, then it becomes a matter of which games you want to play more. Brawl or MGS4? Mario Kart or GT5? It's a matter of preference then.

But as of now, depending on your take on the "HD era", that's the only factor when choosing between a Wii or PS3. If you just don't care, get a Wii. If your one of the people with a 42" Samsung HDTV, and a surround sound setup, etc, get a PS3.....for right now. I don't have said setup, but I do care about HD, so I picked up a PS3.

Yeah, like R&C and Uncharted can stand in the shadow of Galaxy and TP. You've named the 2 best exclusive PS3 games and compared them to the best games on Wii, doesn't really look good for PS3, does it?

HD is not that important, play Galaxy and you'll know that.

Did you own a GameCube? If not you can buy some amazing games for a few bucks, since the Wii is backwards compatible. Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Zelda Windwaker, Resident Evil 0 & 1 (must buy 4 for Wii), Fire Emblem, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Paper Mario.

And something to keep in mind if you want to choose between Wii and PS3: The wii has the Virtual Console: Old Mario's, Sonics, Zelda's, NES, SNES, N64, Genesis/Mega Drive, T16 and NeoGeo all downloadable. I love that feature.

Saying SMG and Metroid have graphics of a few years back is total nonsens. Every review states the amazing quality of the graphics for those titles. And yes I play on a 1080 HD TV and yes I regularly play 360 on that one, and no I don't see a lot of difference between the quality Wii titles and 360's, because for me graphics is not only about polygons but also art direction.

2. The expensive PS3 has the option of buying some old PS games.

For the record, before you accuse me of fanboyism, a few posts back I said to buy a Wii now and a PS3 when the good games arrive, cause I'm looking forward to MGS4 and FF13.

 Well for me alot of good games have already arrived for the PS3. For me, If i had a Wii instead of a PS3 id probably only own 3 or 4 games, yet I own a dozen or so for the PS3.

Also, these reviews may state the amazing quality of the graphics, but I dont care what a review says.I care about what my eyes see, and in MP3 they saw jagged lines and graphics present in most mid-life PS2 games. Art direction is important yes, and as such Ill retract my statement about the graphics in SMG. The games graphics werent amazing but it looked pretty good due to the unique art style, but its still disappointing that it doesnt look MUCH better than Super mario sunshine.

If a person has a 360 it would be pointless to buy a PS3. Unless thats what you want, in which case it shoudln't matter what anyone else things. The Wii or PS3 argument is not really valid since the systems are so different. People know what the Wii is. People know what the PS3 is. It would be like saying I am trying to decide between a Steak for dinner or buying a roll of paper towels. If you like the Wii type games, then buy the Wii. You already have a 360 so I don't see the point, unless you are that big of a MGS4 fan then buy all means!

Buy a Wii, play every game you want to, then resell it at profit =)

seriously though, there's an easy solution. Put together a list of games on the PS3 that you want (not including those games that are coming out for the Xbox360). Do the same with the Wii. Look at the length and the quality of those lists, and decide which console you want.

Wait wait wait...youre going down the list downplaying all the PS3 games (except Uncharted, wow one) and then putting NON exclusive Wii games up there cause they "might as well be". Im baffled.


If the PS3 had versions of games that were the definitive version or had things that made them far supioror then I would make that comment about the PS3 games too.

DBZ:BT3 - Only version that has online
Ghostbusters - Made specifically for the Wii first and with Wii controls in mind
RE4 - Widescreen + PS2 content + far superior controller + budget price = best version *ever*

And I only commented on the quality of three games: Folklore, Tekken6, and Naruto.   Folklore was interesting but not that great.  For Naruto, there's a new one of those every 2 months (and I just missed the one on the Wii list), and the Tekken 6 comment was more of a joke.

That's absolute thrash.  I play my Wii with a HD projector using a 6ft wide screen and it looks great to me even if it's nothing on PS3 or 360.  Just like DVD looks great though it may be nothing on HD DVD or Blu-ray discs.  I don't understand why people keep spitting this bull that Wii does not look good on a HD TV.  Maybe if you use a composite cable but if you are using component set to 480p then it looks great.  It certainly doesn't look any worse than if I was using a SDTV.
