Did not Fallout 3 do well over 5 million on both platforms?

Anyway, the more sales Mass Effect can get, the better. It is a masterpiece that should be appreciated by all. |
Voted 4m. I just can't see it hitting 2m on PS3 at this late date and the 3m on 360 that I expected originally seems like a long way away. M$ won't be doing any bundles for EA after the move to multi plat but maybe they can work with Sony on ME2 and 3 together. Or just do a SW bundle themselves. Not having ME1 available complicates things. I wish M$ would stop acting like a jilted lover and do some kind of deal. Time and money heals all wounds. A nice backstory on blu-ray disc would help the PS3 launch if the content weren't M$ property.
Several rpgs have or will sell 5m but Binary's caveat of new IP this gen rules out Fallout, Fable, FF, ESV a possible KOTOR multi plat and ummm....Pokemon. DA is a new IP but I don't see DA2 hitting 5m. Maybe by DA3? Regardless of individual sales or the lack of really new IPs the genre is growing and benefits in presentation and immersion on HD. Next month for the first time I can say that there are just too many quality rpgs coming out at once. I'll get to them all eventually but it's a strain on the old pocketbook not to mention the thousand or more hours I'll want to spend in game.
Games like AC and RDR have a lot of traditional RPG elements and are doing some amazing nos Wasn't Fable 2 listed as over 4m at one time? I swear it's been adjusted down to 3.7 unless some chartz don't count all those bundles.
Sorry Mr. Solo I am officially stumped. I always wondered are you related to, you know.... him? Or is your avatar not of the Corellian Solo's? Anyway with bundling and the hype EA can generate as ME3 approaches maybe both ME2 and it's sequel can hit 5m multi-plat. Sorry for off-topic but the subject of my fav. genre always winds me up.

I think the "3" in Fallout 3 kinda tells us that Fallout isn't a new IP. I could be wrong.

No, just take a good look at Bioshock!!!
Bioshock 2 PS3 Xbox 360 combined sold less than Bioshock on 360 alone! Sometimes multiplatform just won't do the trick!
I would expect Mass Effect 3 to sell less on 360 (less the 2 million), and combined less than 2.4 million.
And of course Mass Effect 2 PS3 to sell around 0.3 million in a year, just like Bioshock PS3...
Without ME1 for the PS3, the PS3 fanbase will simply not get nearly as engrossed into the mass effect series as the 360/PC players, therefore the amount of ME3 PS3 copies sold will not be very much at all IMO
I think people are forgetting that Mass Effect 2 also released on the PC? For all we know it already passed 3m? I know a lot people(including myself) who buy any game with shooting involved solely for the PC if it's available.
Very unlikely considering the PS3 WRPG base isn't "that" big.
imo i think ME couldve reached 5 mil combined, maybe 6 mil combined, if they launched it similtaneously. but this is a sequel, and will people really be interested in buying an RPG sequel if they've never played the 1st one?? Assassin's Creed is different because you can just pick up and play the 2nd one without any knowledge of the series. i think ME2 will struggle to get 2mil on PS3 because of that. but i'm not saying its improssible.
and it seems unlikely that it will reach 3mil on the 360 imo.
