PS360 UNITE!!! Can PS360 combined make Mass Effect 3 a 5 million game?

Yes We Can! 73 48.67%

Sorry no, PS3 won't get enough sales 46 30.67%

No, 4 million combo maybe, still good right? 31 20.67%

Total:150

Note the question is about Mass Effect 3.

So Mass Effect 2 on 360 has recently broken 2 million LTD. It's still seeing strong weekly sales and this will be it's first holidays, so the sales will carry on nicely. Possibly making it to 2.5 million before year end? Fairly confident it can leg it up to 3 million.

ME2 on PS3 coming in January. I don't expect really big things for ME2 on PS3 but I am hoping for a solid fanbase to be established (like me) on it. Though I know Squilliam is determied I get the ME series for PC, I wan't to support the game as a console multiplat; sorry Squill, gotta look at the larger strategic picture here.

Also the other thing I find disappointing about this generation is that it looks like (correct me if I'm wrong) there isn't a 5 million+ selling game this gen that fits the following profile: on HD console, a new IP this gen, not a FPS/TPS shooter.

So I'd really like (for the sake of new IP development that's in a genre I much prefer over TPS/FPS) for Mass Effect 3 to break that 5 million barrier. I really hope that with it being a multiplat it will get 5 million.

I think it's a tall order, and I think 360 will have to carry most of the sales based primarily on the fact that it doesn't matter what EA does with the Mass Effect 2 port, their inability to bring Mass Effect 1 across to PS3 will mean both ME2 and ME3 are slightly limited for PS3. So I think ME3 will need to do at least 3 million on 360 for 5 million across PS360 to be a chance. And even then 2 million on PS3 would be an impressive achievement.

So can we get a new IP RPG over 5 million this gen? For such a great game it would be really cool for PS3 and 360 gamers to actually be on the same side for once.

My opinion - Not a chance in hell...

I wish it could because it is a fantastic game, but I voted for 4 because I feel it's more realistic.

@bolded: Wouldn't Assassin's Creed qualify?

Hmmm I think Assassin's Creed has broken 5 million.

Anyway, the more sales Mass Effect can get, the better.  It is a masterpiece that should be appreciated by all.

I agree with carl. There's not a snowball's chance. I mean the 360 version alone would have to go up by a factor of like 50% from the first game, the PS3 version of it would then have to hit 2 million, which I don't think has a chance of happening either.

I'd say 4m is very much within reach if we're lucky.

I don't think it will hit 5 million, even with good PS3 sales.

I think there's only been one WRPG on the PS3 that has exceeded sales of 2 million.  I think they need a holiday launch and console bundling.

I'll buy it on PS3, but i don't think the PS3 base will push it that high. PS3 and Bioware are new to eachother. Dragon Age didn't sell all that well on it, not terrible but could have been better. 360 fans are big wrpg fans and have a loyalty to Bioware and will buy there games. I guess it will depends on how ME2 and DA2 perform on PS3 to establish the Bioware fanbase with them.

I stand corrected. I forgot about AC. Assassin's Creed is the first, one and only, HD console, new IP this gen, non-shooter to crack 5 million. Actually I think AC2 has a chance at cracking 10 million which would be great, but it may not.

I still hope Mass Effect can be the second one to do it (unless there's already been a second one?).

Total speculation, but I think ME would have cracked 5 million if it had been multiplat from the start. What do you reckon?
