Just be friends. But never get yourself into a situation where you have to say to her "I just want to be friends", because that will be the end of your friendship.

She seems like a pretty cool person so someone you ought to stay friends with. And who knows, maybe one day she'll slim down and she could turn into the girl of your dreams.

I do know this though, the more you get to know (and like) someone, the less significant their physical appearance becomes.

That's an important thing to keep in mind. Dating a big girl should not be a problem. Dating somebody you have to work with could be.
