Holy smokes PS3 ahead of Wii. Nice! Hopefully this is the start of a trend.

PS3 just had Move released, Wii had nothing compelling. If PS3 WASN'T in front of Wii, it would be in trouble..

Whose fault is it the Wii had nothing? Wasn't mine, wasn't Sony's...it was Nintendo's. Now that PS3 has motion controlls too the Wii has nothing to offer unless you prefer Nintendo's core games.

I didn't bring it up, you did.

Maybe nothing to offer for you, but for me it has far more games that interest me than the PS3, motion controls or not. But whatever, to each his own..

I'm simply saying take a look at the curcumstances. PS3 is really in the worse position IMO because they just had a major addon released in which they poured a great deal of effort and resources into, and still it barely beat the Wii on a week that the Wii had squat.

If you wanna get technical, it wasn't Nintendo's fault as much as the third parties, which have left Wii out in the cold. The Wii lineup this year actually has been pretty solid for the core gamer. The problem is that by Nintendo shifting back completely to the core gamer this year is they have stopped making games for the expanded audience (except for Wii Party), which has resulted in lower sales. But this holiday they seem to have more of that nice balance of core, casual, and bridge titles, which is why I think they are in for a bigger holiday season then most people anticipate.

Move is a slow burner, just ask Sony they said so themselves.

Ouch, so much for the argument that motion controls are the root of Wii's success.

Yeah, I don't believe your logic is valid there.  People have already seen motion now for years.  They're not so easily impressed anymore.  Good games are needed, and Sony hasn't released the good ones yet.

People have seen motion like THIS for years.  Despite the unique features that Move has - the consumer see it used and it looks like the Sony Wiimote.  Something many have already played before.

It honestly seems like Sony has to convince people who own PS3's already - that it's worth buying.  Forget convincing someone without a PS3, that Move is the answer for buying their console.  Not if you're going to have technology that too closely resembles the Wiimote.

This will not even get 1/3 of the populous brought in by the Wii.  It's just - not different enough for them to justify it.  And in my opinion - it may be too accurate for it's own good.

This is more the Wii's fault than Sony's.  The Wii kind of mucked up motion in the eyes of the "core".  It's regarded as lame to many people, but good games usually prevail. We have to wait and see.

I don't know how many times this has to be repeated.  People really do enjoy being alarmist....Sony aimed this to be a slow burner.  Believe it or don't.

How about that Halo Reach dropping a 4 million launch week...TOPPING Halo 3, when SO SO SO Many said it would fall well short of it...that is some pretty yummy humble pie, indeed!

Lol really? No, haha.  It just means that it will sell well for a long time without having a gigantic opening.  At least, that's what Sony's higher ups are hopiong for.  Only time will tell I guess.

And......I guess it could be drug terminology too haha.

I wish we could post on the weekly charts again =(

Yeah basically.  But I guess there's a difference in that "slow burner" implies a small opening.  GT is NOT a slow burner, but it DOES have legs.  Slight difference, but yeah.  And that phrase has been around for a while, we just use legs around these parts more I guess lol.

Great sales for everyone.

Wii is selling even without anything this week. Hold the Reach/Move week very well. Is above 100k. Now we'll see the kinect/GT5 effect at november. >.<

5 Wii games at the top. I believe everyone said Wii didn´t sell software... =/
