anyone has any info about the release date? I see lots of rumors about 3ds, someone even said it will be released this Christmas, but someone even said it will be released until 2012?
Any latest info?

We'll find out about the release date officially in less than a day.
I have a 63 inch 3DTV and man gaming in 3D is fantastic, you won't want to go back once you've experienced it. I can't wait for the 3DS, more 3D is always good IMO.

This is probably the first time that I am psyched for a handheld in my life. However I have a lazy left eye, and until I went to see Avatar in 3d, I didn't know I couldn't see 3D. Now since a month i wear glasses for the first time in my life. I can see clear through both my eyes now. So here is hoping that I will see the games on the 3ds like they should be seen. Are there any other people that can't see 3d? If so, do you look forward to the 3DS? |
Sounds like I might have a slightly similar problem with my eyes aswell, depending on what angle and distance. Although i can still see 3D, i saw it at the Avatar premier screening last Dec.
Pretty sure you can do exercises to train your eyes in some cases, maybe check it out. Surgery too, not that i would want to do that. Its meant to be something you should work on when you're young too.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I fully expect to play most games with 3D turned off, and only with games that benefit from it significantly will it be turned on. I see 3D just fine, but it still puts more pressure on your eyes than 2D screens which is why they don't recommend you watch 3D in long sessions. (Avatar is far too long)
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I blame the IMAX screen here in Melbourne (2nd largest in the world), not the 3D.
