Forums - Website Topics - Who thinks we should remove bundled games from the software game charts?

I agree that bundled games are not sold games. There is no price drop on the XBOX 360 if the games aren't bundled in. If you buy a premium w/out bundle it's still 350. The bundled games are a giveaway. I just think it skews data the wrong way. I never played Forza 2 when my bro bought it, and if it was bundled, I wouldn't have played it. And if I didn't want it, it wouldn't matter. So forcing a game upon you is a sale? In that case, someone should bundle Mobile Suit Gundam with every PS3 sold, so it can become a million seller, and people can actually think that game is good. But it's ioi's decision, (He has already said that they'll stay).

Keep them in.

I vote for leaving bundled games in, but somehow denoting them as bundled (e.g., with an asterisk). This option would provide the most information to visitors/readers.

 agree, that's a good idea

what would have a problem with if their was the option to exclude bundles much like we do for boxarts.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

i agree with putting an asterix or something next to them so its not misleading

Check out my pyro tf2 vid :)

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

I really wouldn't mind seeing them gone since they tend to clog up the top of the charts and distort software sales figures but from past responses I really don't think they're going anywhere.

SMB did not sell 30-40 million games(whatever the total is). 30-40 million people had the game because it was bundled with the system they bought. So it should be indicated somehow on the chart. Yahoo actually did a column a few months ago on the best selling video games of all time. And they had them in two groups. Bundled and single. I think for comparison its the fair way to do it

This is where you are wrong.

40 million people had a Nintendo because of Mario, not the other way around. That game was the reason most people purchased the NES, it was the must have item and everybody into electronics or with a friend into electronics wanted to play Mario....buying the Nintendo to do so was just a step along the path to playing the game.

Bundled games sell hardware. It is as simple as that.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Yeah I don't think so either. But maybe someone has a good idea on how to deal with them

Where does it end? Do you exclude Wii Play? How about Link crossbow trainer? Wii Fit is a free game with the hardware. It goes too. Motorstorm, you are out. Forza, Marvel, you too. Wii Brain Training in certain countries, European PS3 value packs, you are out. Special Japanese hardware bundles for game launches ... out. PSP bundles, you go too. (sorry Daxter/Star Wars) Buy one get one free sales should only count as one game, not two. etc, etc, etc....

If they were estimating game sales revenue, it would make sense to exclude them. Otherwise, a game is a game. If you do not like bundled games, just ignore them.
