I say have them on the list but put an * next to them and on the bottom of the page say they are bundled games.

| pntsurf1 said: I'm getting tired of seeing Wii sports, forza, and marvel on the top of the list. We all know how these are selling just by looking at the hardware numbers. I think it’s also misleading to people who don't know much about video games. If a newbie came to this site with little knowledge about this industry, and saw the top games, he would get a distorted view and think these were amazing games with great legs. Isn't there some better way to do this? Maybe add an asterisk next to the bundled titles or make a different section for them. I don't know. I really do believe SMG and ME should be # 1 and #2. What do you guys and girls think? Maybe I just had to much coffee this morning and I'm way off in left field. |
I don't think ioi will remove them. It would be good to remove the games that come with a console (wiisports, forza 2,Daxter etc.) but I wouldn't want the ones that just come with peripherals moved out (like wiiplay)

NO
wiisports japan maybe?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
If wiisports is not bundled in Japan then I think it should be on the Japanese chart.

anyway a game is a game

I like how you say we with only 19 posts... (I guess that sounds arrogant now - well that was what I wanted
)
Anyways, people with little knowledge about the industry are not interested in sales, others know that these titles are bundled. Not having them in the charts would be wrong too, so we should just keep them in.
There probably needs to be a place listing what was bundled where and when, so people know.
But they SHOULD be included in the numbers because that is really what people want to know.

to appeal to both sides of the discussion, I think that an option to remove the bundles would be best. That way you could see the charts by how much software was purchased and cut down on cherry picking.
They should be clearly marked (asterisk, highlighting) and stuff like Wii play should be noted as including a controller and EoJ should be notes as having PS eye
My solution is simple, if people are paying for the bundled game, it has to be included.
Wii + Wii Sports costs 249$/Euro in NA and PAL territories.
Wii w/o Wii Sports cost about 190$ in Japan.
Which means NA and PAL countries are paying 50-60$ more for Wii Sports. Hence it has to included.
Forza and Marvel Ultimate Allaince are being given for the same cost, hence it could be excluded from the charts.
Most PS3 bundles work out 25-30$ per bundled game and they could be included in the charts. The 80GB PS3 + Motor Sports and the PS3 Starter Pack bundles in E.U factor in the cost of the extra h/w and games in the final pricing.
My basic logic is, as long as you are paying for the bundled software it has to be included in the charts.
Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>
