Bad move. This game NEEDS the holiday sales.
But I don't really mind cause I'll have GT5 to keep me busy and the extra cash could go towards Epic Mickey or something.

LBP2 will be fine. But rather than being more front loaded in sales than LBP it'll have a similar but slightly higher sales pattern as LBP. I wouldn't expect much in the way of increased PS3 sales from LBP release in 2010, but in January PS3 sales might get a wee HW boost.
What will really miss out in sales during the holidays because of this is Move. LBP2 was one of those titles with optional Move functionality that could have drawn a reasonable number of people into getting Move. So I think whatever predictions you may have made about Move sales this holiday adjust them down by about 5-10%.

Check it out!

Good idea.
While its a not the same genre, it can easily get lost in the fold of titles coming.
But now its being release in the same month as Mass Effect 2. I'm sure Bioware and EA is happy with that.

EA actually two major releases in Jan next year. Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2. I doubt however that either will affect LBP 2's sales and visa versa

LBP2 will outsell ME2 on PS3 by over 2:1

Well LBP2 is now the major release of January. It could have an impact on those EA games.
We can assume Sony fans will be incline to go with LBP2 as well.
