Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft want to see more regular Halo releases

I want a major Halo every three years and a spin off every 2 years.

Halo 4 in 2013, Halo Wars 2 in 2012. Halo 4 DLC in 2014 and Halo 5 in 2016.

Funny, I just googled who works at 343 industries now. The talent they hired is amazing. Guys from

  • Bungie
  • Naughty Dog
  • iD
  • Pandorra
  • Gearbox
  • Kojima Productions

And that is just what we know. I am really excited for the next big Halo. The team seems to be the best you can find in this industry.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I'd wait until they release a game...or anything before I'd say even come close to saying that. Although I agree, the talent is being drawn from great sources.

Halo every year is a horrid idea, it would all but lose the "event" type feel that the current releases have.  To me thats why Halo is such a success.  Halo isn't Madden and you need more than a roster change in order to keep the game fresh.

They may be able to keep the quality up for a game or 2, but in the long run it will just be to demanding and it will indeed cause the franchise to be watered down.  And thats never a good thing.

From a money making standpoint, I can see where they are coming from.  As a gamer, I sort of like it when games like Halo, Mario, Zelda, or Metal Gear are these huge, rare events.  How special can it be if there's a new one every year?

In short, DO NOT WANT!

I like the 3 year pattern. With the amount of content stuffed into these games it takes me that long to feel I've finally invested enough into them.

I personally think they should do away with the Halo brand name altogether for future games. I know it's a horrible business move but it's the route I would take if I was in charge (pending comments thanking a higher power that I'm not in charge). I think 343 should do what Bungie has been orchestrating since their inception; providing a new and exciting world that hints at past (and future) events from other franchises. Halo incorporates mythos from ONI, myth and marathon. I'd like 343 to make a fresh new franchise that hints in the same way at Halo. Maybe doing something forerunner based - connecting the Forerunner race to the human race? Or explaining the flood and Forerunner experience? There's a lot of material to work with and it would be a shame if they just went with obvious Chief after Halo 3 arc.

Also by keeping the Halo name 343 will have enormous shoes to fill and regardless of what they put out people will kinda disregard its quality as it's not "a Bungie made Halo" (much like Treyarch with CoD).

You spoke my thoughts precisely.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

CoD is a very special event every year for stock holders.

harrr harrrr harrrr

Maybe not such a good idea having yearly releases from now on, especially considering its not Bungie doing it anymore.

Do you really think a new company can come in and do a Bungie-quality Halo game anually?

Goning to be pretty difficult to maintain quality on a yearly basis. Cod has 2 different studios doing games that make it every come out every year. Iw also didnt want to do it yearly when activison wanted them to do it, infact they wanted to do a new game and come back to cod. If it was a couple of studios doing different halo games i could see yearly being ok but 1. IMO I think thats going to hurt the series more than be a good thing.

Btw cod has been steadily been getting worse and worse. MW2 sucked balls. Long live COD4!

Give me a Halo 1/2 HD Remake Collection thing, and I don't care WHAT they do with the franchise.
