Forums - Microsoft - Halo Reach Disc Read Errors

"Halo: Reach had one of gaming's most successful launcheslast week, but the game continues to make headlines for the wrong reason.

According to a number of internet forums, including a growing thread on Bungie's own website, Halo: Reach players are experiencing disc read errors, leaving many unable to play the game. "

Spending some time on the Bungie forums this is a pretty big issue, and it just happened to my buddy yesterday. Yet I did not see a single thread about this. So it leads me to believe that it is either a limited issue or the fanboys are dropping the ball. So let me know if anyone else has had this problem.

no problems here...but they speculate that with the high volume of sales there will always be a higher number of disc reading erros.

my Halo Reach copy seems to be working fine...

Why would you post this Billy? Are you personally having issues with your copy of Halo reac?

I don't have a problem, but the first thing I did was install it so..

No probs here or at any of my buddies'.

I installed mine so I guess I can't get disc read errors if the disc isn't being read. Also when did Billy get a 360?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I don't have one since I live in America most of my friends have a 360. However, so far 2 of the 7 people I know who bought reach have had disc errors, and one more bought the 4 gig 360.

A bit off topic though the game is much better than I imagined especially considering how weak I found 3 to be. So far 4 player Coop on Legendary is completely brutal thanks to the increased difficulty with more players,  I like that.

For those who said they installed it, doesn't work for those with disc read errors. I had this problem, and I tried everything I could ( new disk, install games, play with out hdd, play not connected to live, clear cache multiple times). Eventually I tried the pot fix, but unfortunalty it did not work(i didn't have a multimeter when I did it, probably burned out my laser0, I had to buy a new 360. But I will say it was worth it, reach is awesome. I was going to buy a new 360 for kinect anyways but MS/Bungie are being to quiet about this problem and should release an updated statement so we gamers know if the problem was with the disks or with 360's.

Wierd the issue must be limited/rare because my friend got the DRE error, reset his 360 then installed the game with no problems.

It's just that simple.
