Interesting about the comment on UK sales. Because reading that they say it beat Halo 3 sales and we know for a fact that Halo 3 sold 266k in it's first day and then went on to sell almost 700k in it's first week in UK alone. So We know it sold at least 720k then if Reach sold 20k more then Halo 3. The worldwide numbers for this game are going to be monster.

Btw all we know about sports champions is that it sold between 30k(mafia 2 by simple extrapolation, and taking best case scenario) and 430k(halo) in the UK :P

Im guessing it's more towards the 30k, but hey you never know!!

Interesting as my friend over at Eurogamer said that was what they were told it had done.

What do you have it at then?

If you read what track said they say it was only beaten by 2 games MW2 and GTA4. Both selling 1m copies in first week. I seriously doubt there is a drop of 50% or so from 2nd place to 3rd place in sales?

I thought it was a bit high... isnt it closer to 300k?

It was 900k for all of others I believe,  so UK around 300k to 400k?

what do you have as an estimation for Reach?


According to http://www.mcvuk.com/news/40888/330k-UK-Halo-Reach-sales-on-day-one Reach sold 300k on just the first day in UK.

And if you look at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7379624.stm BBC confirm what i said about Halo 3 selling 266k first day in UK.

Makes sense.. it was even mentioned that halo reach was only around half CoD:MW2's first week on the 360

Which is exactly what i thought. However first week sales were CONFIRMED by Chart Track/ELPSA for MW2 to be 1.78m in UK first week. http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/grandtheftauto4/news.html?sid=6240215

Question then becomes what half are they talking about? How does that 1.78m break down into 3 formats? I expect Track will announce soon the numbers anyway. I trust ioi and his numbers. If he says thats what it did then that is probably what it did.
