The filing, made August 12, is for the title "Oblivion" for use in "Motion picture film production; entertainment services, namely, providing motion picture theatrical films in the field of fantasy games."

I can't imagine a movie based on Oblivion and I have never even been playing around with the thought.

Now all gamers will say "boo! Movies based on games suck" but I think it's cool that they feel the game was so important that it could deserve its own Hollywood movie! Note that the trademark is about "Oblivion" despite the fact that the next game in the Elder Scrolls series most certainly won't have the name Oblivion in it.

Yeah it seems like that doesn't it? So Oblivion wasn't movie worthy for real then.

I didn't know about this Disney Oblivion or even the novel.

Oblivion belongs to Bethesda and Elder Scrolls!

It would be a terrible movie if they followed the main quest line. They would cut out all the important details.

Cool, if they got the rights they will eventually be forced to make a movie, that was how that 1994 version of the Fantastic Four happened :D
