I can understand the thought, but I doubt it.  Between Goldeneye and DK waking from an 11 year coma, Wii will sale gang-busters.

Wouldn't be shocked if you're premise is right though.

Wow...

That post is borderline trolling.

Splitting owners of consoles into "class"? Wtf?

Wii will still beat it. X360 doesn't really have a lot to drive hw in October. The Halo push is confined to Sept really, and the Fable / Medal of Honor fans should already be on the system. November will be big - but its mainly on Kinect. Call of Duty and some of the other big core titles are going to decline this year from fatigue.

To be honest, Wii kind of had another price cut in 2010 - you get two games with Wii in 2010 for$200. In 2009 you got one game with Wii for $200 over Christmas. Wii should become a viable purcahse for another level of budgets as a result.

To the average customer which looks better as a gift? This is the impressions I have of how USA consumers see these things -

Wii: Four years of motion control games, $200 for a console and two games, dozens of exclusive NIntendo games, excellent local multiplayer, some good third party games, games $50, plays NES, SNES, N64, GC, Gen games and new indie games via download or backwards compatability, even with Kinect / Move retains advantages in some motion genres (snowboarding because of balance board, fitness because of demographics, dancing because of demographics), solid gift as primary console for women, children, men over 25, solid gift as secondary console for men under 25. Generally sells well to the upper middle class, according to surveys from 2009 which has alot of money to spend on gifts but dislikes to waste money on crap.

Weakest graphics, weakest for online multiplayer, hit games sell for years and never get price cuts.

PS3: best graphics, $300 without motion, $400 for one player motion control games, tiny selection of motion games, big selection of third party games, few exclusive third party games, blu ray, PS1 games and indie games via download. Sells to middle class looking for HD TV show piece, slowly working to upper and lower middle class as game lineup fills out and price drops respectively. Solid gift for men 15-25 as primary or secondary console.

$60 games, smallest console selection of retail games, yellow ring of death, weak for local multiplayer.

X360: best online, $200 for basic package, $300 for good package / Kinect package, MIcrosoft blockbusters (Fable, Halo), big selection of third party games, few exclusive third party games, Xbox and indie games via download, overwhelmingly for men of age 15-25 as a primary or secondary console gift. Sells to lower middle class looking for games that can be bought / traded in cheaply, and for online experiences that last forever, also to consumers who had PS2, want HD but can't afford PS3. Some headway into middle class families with TV / Movie / Internet services pushed into one box. Not really for upper middle class, which sees better features on Wii (motion, Nintendo exclusives and some third party exclusives, local multiplayer) or PS3 (graphics, Blu Ray, legacy PS2 era exclusives).

$60 games, many Microsoft games end up on PC, red ring of death weakest for local multiplayer.

Given how entrenched some of the Wii advantages are, there is no reason it can't get to about 8m in USA / 9m Americas in 2010, while X360 is on track to get to 5.75m in the USA and 6.5m in the Americas.

as always i like reading his posts maybe b/c were both from jersey idk, this guy just puts so much time and effort in his posts

It's hilarious really.

"Sells to lower middle class looking for games that can be bought / traded in cheaply"... Pretty much calling 360 owners cheapskates... Yet those cheapskates have also give the 360 an excellent attach rate and fork out £40 a year for Xbox Live

"to consumers who had PS2, want HD but can't afford PS3". Again. 360 owners are obviously cheapskates. Tutut.

"Not really for upper middle class, which sees better features on Wii (motion, Nintendo exclusives and some third party exclusives, local multiplayer) or PS3 (graphics, Blu Ray, legacy PS2 era exclusives)."... I love the bits about Wii 3rd party exclusives (Or lack of quality ones, compared to 360). Apparent lack of 360 local multiplayer (Halo? Gears? FIFA/Madden? Etc.) and the fact that 360 has pretty much every PS2 era 3rd party exclusive ON the 360.

As an analyst, he really should spend a lot more time analyzing ALL the consoles, and what they offer. Rather than just Nintendo's products.

Oh, I also found this one funny.

"Generally sells well to the upper middle class, according to surveys from 2009 which has alot of money to spend on gifts but dislikes to waste money on crap."
