Actually a mech game fits well with Kinect.  A cockpit style simulation is something Kinect should be able to do very well. While it won't be as complex as the original Kinect could add a level of emersion that hard core gamers will appreciate.

You can't really add immersion to the Steel Battalion experience.

Will have to wait and see what they do, but for many of us who have been following kinect, this particular genre is where it could really shine.

So now the Xbox 360 will be getting two mech games. Interesting stuff!

Wait...what's the other one?

This and Panzer Dragoon for Kinect have me sooooo excited!

I now am 100% sure I'm getting Kinect at launch now, the core games are finally being announced and look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

This doesn't tell me what I need to know most, which is how it controls

I can tell you now, you won't be using that gigantic controller of yours unfortunately.

This quote. "...But with Kinect, once you have the sensor, there's nothing else to buy..." is NOT encouraging.  But on the flip side, some of the current anime I'm seen thus far shows a mech pilot controlling the mech with arms and feet.  Granted this is fiction, it might be feasable to translate these action into something functional to control the mech in the game.  And it's possible to add a virtual control panel "off to the side" while utilizing voice commands.  But will voice commands be stifled by game sounds?

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

I wish they would at least make it compatible with the old controller, although it's hard to complain until we see just how it plays.

I see absolutely no point it making this game complicated to please the handfull of people who purchased it first time round. What makes a lot more sense is to enable more people to enjoy and play in the world (read pay for a game and make a profit). I see no reason why motion control and voice cannot take a large part of the complication away from this game.

Of course if you did buy Kinect you also actually do need an Xbox and guess what they already come with controllers so it is not massively far fetched if they could not pull this off with Motion and voice alone they could not supplement with a controller.

I was a fan of the Mechwarrior series myself and am looking foward to that game and I can certainly see how that could be used with Kinect but the news on that games front has gone awfully quiet.

Hey guys, here is a pic of the new controller to be used in SB2.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I don't know anything about this game but my friend flipped out when I told him about it last night.  He didn't actually believe me at first and was even more shocked when I told him it was a kinect game

Wait.

There's no controller?

YOU DON'T USE A CONTROLLER AT ALL? Okay even that would be fine, but with confirmation of this it leads me to believe that Steel Battalion will be simplified into something like... like Mechassault.

Hold on I need to find an appropriate .gif

Okay found one
