I'm sorry, I don't know what else to say
I'm kind of in shock
Maybe you people don't understand what that means.

Steel Battalion was a mech simulator on the Xbox, famous for its 40-button controller that would only work with that game. It was a slavish, loving serenade to fans of simulators, and it immersed players in a way that a keyboard and mouse couldn't hope to replicate.
It was difficult beyond easy articulation.
Death in the game would erase your entire save file.
Missions could take hours.
It was one of the greatest games of the last generation.
I was one of only a few tens of thousands of people who owned a copy. And it's coming back. For Kinect.
How will it work? What has changed? I don't know. But now I'm looking at Kinect differently, and I am beginning to wonder.
I actually talked about having a mech game using Kinect a while back, and I believe about a Steel Battalion game in particular. Good to see I was right :)
I loved the game and was lucky enough to get one of the reprinted versions and the sequel but damn this seems like an epic fail to me. The controller made the experience and I cannot fathom anyway for Microsoft to give players that experience on Kinect. I am scared the game is going to be far to simplified.
cool, i liked the original game on the xbox, cant wait to find out more about the game.

I have to wonder how it will work. Kinect can't recognize finger movements. Lots of different things would have to be changed. Would the console you interact with be on the screen? Would it retain the game's beautiful start-up sequence for every mech? How does the throttle work, or the three different orientations you could control (guns, legs, and camera)?
It's going to be simplified. It has to be. There's no way to get around that.
But people challenged Microsoft to make a hardcore game on Kinect and they give us a follow-up to what may be the most hardcore game of the last ten years
There haven't been enough mecha games this gen... I'm so excited

Sig thanks to Saber! :D
Its great to see MS finally getting an interesting title for Kinect, Cant wait to see how this turns out

Lookin' HOT HOT HOT!!! Can't wait to see more on this. BTW, I'm glad japanese devs are hard at work making cool games for kinect.
They're even working on a jap version of Kinectimals... but with dragons!!!
