Forums - Gaming - Should i buy a 360 or a Wii

@Dioxinis  yes it does work but be warned there are very few titles that support motion , im talking I can count on one hand. Resort, RS2,TigerWoods, some tennis game. THe only ones coming that do is Skyward Sword & Conduit 2 but there not coming for a while. I got the RS2 pack myself cause i hate those sports compilations. They get too boring too fast. Is it worth it???? Ill let someone else answer that im still on the fence but im leaning toward no

is wii motion plus something i should get? im thinking about the sports resort bundle since it already has motion plus ... is it worth it? does it work? do i need it?

also i guess of note is my girlfriend who i wouldnt mind getting to play games with so thats another reason for the wii i got her to play a bit of ps3 with me but i can tell shes not very hardcore and i think the wii games would appeal a bit more (mario in particular)

My girlfriend started off playing my Wii and has now moved onto playing games like Dead Space and Left 4 Dead so it's a good entry point for casual gamers who then might progress to more 'core' titles.

Also I find the Wii to be better for local multi-player. There's nothing better than a few mates around with a heap of beers and Brawl, Mario Kart and NSMBWii.

As for the motion plus question, It's up to you really. I have one that came with Tiger 10 but to be honest I don't use it much. It just depends on if you're interested in playing the games that use it.

Get a Wii, the PS3 and the Wii is a great combination. You will not regret it.

First: You already mentiones more games on Wii than 360

Second: you are only considering buying a 360 for multiplayer only, when you already have pc/ps3, both can provide you the multiplayer needs without paying.

Third: you want to play a lot of games, probably you wont have the time to focus on 360 multiplayers.

I am not a Wii owner and probably never be (owner 360/ps3), but acoording to your needs, Wii is the better choice.

I would say yes- both Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2 are really good (and show of the motion plus well), and if you want to get Skyward Sword, then it's really your only option. You can get it bundled with Red Steel 2 for around £30 now, (don't know about USD), and it's worth it just for the controller (part of the reason I bought Monster Hunter for the CC Pro)

P.S- have you come to a decision yet?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The Wii.  A Wii and a HD system has always made more sense to me than 2 HD systems.

ALso, if the Wii2 comes in early January I will eat my computer.  The 3DS is all but complete and we still don't know for certain if we are going to have that by January.

But does it really? Owning an HD system means you like thos type's of games. I'm not refering to multiplats, but in terms of exclusives, they're much more alike than anything on the Wii.

I'd certainly agree it means you prefer those style of games, not that you only like those kinds of games.  The fact that he is asking the question makes me think that he may fit in the former rather than the latter category.

I suppose I'm working on the principle that the broadest range of unique games is best, which admittedly may not hold true for all people.

check out walmart in November. Every year they have been running $50-100 gift card offers on video game consoles. That is how I got my PS3 when it was still $400 at retail. No way I was spending that much just for the system, but $300 for a blu-ray player/home console combo was good enough for me.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Its simple people he has a damn 360 already so no Live alone is not better than the Wii so the choice is simple and the debate is over.

Congrats Wii you win.
