Forums - Gaming - Should i buy a 360 or a Wii

id say wii cuz theres more exclusives for it, as several have already stated, other than halo and gears of war, pretty much any other game for xbox can be played on either ps3 or pc.

360! Plain and simple. No need for further explanation!

Please, explain...

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

Wii and get SMG 1/2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, No More Heroes 1/2, Monster Hunter 3, there's a lot more, but, I don't feel like typing them all.

Since you have a PC and a PS3, then buy the Wii.

The reason Xbox 360 is such a bad deal is that 99% of it's games are also on either the PC or PS3. And there's no X360 exclusive that's unique enough to set itself apart from PC/PS3 games (Gears of War 2 and Halo 3, for example, are from oversaturated genres)

The Wii not only has more games not available on PC/PS3, but also several of them are fresh in their own way.

Also, Xbox Live is a complete ripoff.

Well I have a 360 and a ps3 and I choose multiplatform games on 360 because achievements are more fun plus live is superiour over psn yet the paying for live does suck sometimes....

But in honestly it seems like the wii is a better choice because of the more diverse library, but I also suggest getting a 360 sometime down the line also, 3 consoles = best of all worlds

i have to say that a Xbox without Live its pretty useless if you own a PS3... if you don't (like me) want to pay for one thing that you think you should get for free don't buy it... i don't like the wii too since there are almost no games that interests me but if you find them attractive, go for it... and you read you OP, you mention more games for wii than for xbox and a console is almost all about games!

Ok so i've been thinking for a while and i want another console theres just too much im missing.

as a preface i Own a PS3 and a Good gaming computer so PC/360 games need not apply for swaying choices

Wii

So theres a bunch of good games for wii that i want

Mario galaxy 1/2, NSMBW, paper mario, metroid prime trilogy and other M, Muramasa, Kirby epic yarn (and let me say i FUCKING LOVE kirby) , no more heroes 1/2 and some rail shooters maybe plus a few more but those are the main ones

Most of those games do not center itself on the Wii motion experience, so Move is not gonna make up for them. And though there are lots of First Person shooters alike in the gaming market, I don't think there's anything as Metroid Prime Trilogy out there, so, just the same.

I'd say you go for the Wii.

I made a thread a couple of days ago about what was the best home console combo of two consoles, and most of the people said a PS3-Wii combo with a gaming PC.

That's what I've got and I'm loving it.

Anyway, I think if you get an x360 you won't regret it either, specially if you buy kinnect to try something different.

Wii fanboys say you should buy a Wii. XBox360 fanboys say you should buy a 360. And, if for some reason a PS3 fanboy appears here, he will say that both options are bad and you should just stick to buy a PS3.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Wii.  It sounds like a lot of Wii games interest you, and the Wii is quite a bit cheaper in the long run.  If you buy online (like Amazon) you can get some great super cheap games.  Madworld is about $6.  Muramasa is $18.  Resident Evil 4 is $12.  The No More Heroes games are about $15.  Okami is around $15.  Even the Mario games you can get for around $35 if you watch it closely.  And of course there are the Gamecube games.  You can really stretch a buck with the Wii.

hYpnochronic has a damn fine point- there's a lot of great Wii gems that don't get mentioned but can be found cheap (NMH, Okami, Little King's Story, Conduit...), you can also play all of the old GC games (which are also cheap!). The Wii also has the best exclusives (Nintendo games Monster Hunter Tri, NMH etc.) and some great online games (most of VC and I'd reccomend the Bit:trip series, lit and World of Goo to start), as well as free online and a great lineup of games for the rest of the year (Zelda, Kirby, Goldeneye, Epic Mickey, DKCR, Conduit 2 etc.) as well as the games you've listed. Add to the fact that you already have a PS3, AND a modded 360, and there's only one answer...

Get a 360 :)
