Forums - Sony - If a PS3 Reviewer of R.U.S.E Doesn't Try it on Move = Poor Review Method?

yes it's a very lazy way to do it, I have seen many reviewers testing the x360 version and handing out a score for the ps3 version at the same time however just look here one place I know of has tested both versions, and look what came out on top!! http://ps3.nowgamer.com/reviews/ps3/9355/ruse, then click on the x360 version http://ps3.nowgamer.com/reviews/xbox-360/9379/ruse to see the difference, gameplay is better thanks to the move!!

when more people get hands on with move and ruse, the metacritc for the ps3 version should rise

Interesting difference between PS3 and 360 on graphics there 7.2(PS3) vs. 7.8(360).

All due fairness but ps3 is capable of more graphically so that is why it scored less on that part...

move isnt even out yet and its not likely to affect the score even if it was.  they could comment on whether move enhances the game during the review, but its not probable the reviewer would include it in their score.  since they should be basing it on what everyone is going have.

Move is an additional controller. It is not needed to play this game.

And you want us to read a review site called ps3 gamer reviewing 360 games? seriously..

It's got nothing to do with that, it's two different reviewers, that's why.

Well if people read the reviews as opposed to merely looking at the number, then either is legitimate as long as they state which control scheme(s) they used

Just sayin'

I suggest you go visit the site properly before assuming it's a PS3 oriented site, making ill-informed assumptions and trying to shame jneul.

Because: 360 review of R.U.S.E. http://xbox-360.nowgamer.com/reviews/xbox-360/9379/ruse and PS3 review of R.U.S.E. http://xbox-360.nowgamer.com/reviews/PS3/9355/ruse Oh look! now it looks like links to a 360 oriented site reviewing PS3 games, which must clearly be biased towards 360 games right? Wrong, it's exactly the same site and exactly the same reviews.

It's like this. You don't give something a higher score because of something that not everyone has access to makes it better. Just like how Naznatips gave a lower score to the 360 version of DAO, although if you install the game on the hard drive it plays the same. Not everyone has the ability to do install so it would be unfair to give it a higher score because of that.

If I were to want this game I would probably check metacritic really quickly to see which version to get. Even though I don't have Move I would come out thinking that it was better. Which is wrong!. They are the exact same without Move and should be judged that way

Well, by that logic then, the Arkham Asylum scores should be the same because not everyone has access to an internet connection either.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Most reviewers have enough sense to talk about the varying aspects of a game.  They'll talk about using a Nunchuck or a Gamecube controller in Smash Bros. Brawl.  They'll give input on using a joystick or a Fight Pad in Street Fighter 4.  They'll inform us about the differences between using a Wii Wheel and using a Classic Controller in Mario Kart Wii.  They even tell us the benefits of using motion control vs analog control in Heavenly Sword.  I'm sure they'll give us guidance on whether Move enhances the experience.  It's up to the consumer to pay attention to the content of the review and not that final score.  It'll help make a much more informed decision.
