Why not just get the Xbox Arcade with 4GB and Halo Reach. That's 260... instead 400. Especially if you're getting it for just one game.

I wouldn't get a used refurb... unless they have a good warranty... and even then I'd recommend against it Unless it is way cheaper.

I can't say which one to get. because I don't like halo that much though I'm going to rent it... and I don't plan I getting the move.

That's probably the best way to go about it honestly. I just looked up the bundle on amazon: It comes with one controller, one month of live. I already have a handful of AA batteries and my PS3 ethernet cable.

I'll have to extend live eventually, and I see myself buying a headset because I like to trashtalk. The only thing I'm afraid of is future DLC. will 4GB hold up?

I can't say for sure... but it's not really 4GB... more Like 3ish...  after the system is setup, It showed around 3, probably 3.2 or something. (for me atleast). I basically have room for Lara Croft, Perfect Dark, and Game saves...

but if you have USB hard drives or Thumb Drives lying around. you can add up to 16GB...
I don't know how big halo DLC is... as I don't buy halo, only rent it. So I'm sure someone in here knows.

But oddly enough I took apart the old 360 hard drive... and put it in a USB Hard Drive Enclosure for 10 dollars. And now it's my exta storage space for my 360 :P

The negatives on this... depend on a few things though.
The headset (Do you still have that, or want to use it.)
Do you still have old controllers if you want to play it with friends locally. (Or is this not necessary.)
The Hard Drive (May or may not be an issue) But compare it to Halo 3 DLC I'd guess.
The Halo Reach Bundle comes with 2 controllers and a bigger hard drive. Or does it come with more... I didn't research it that much.

Also, do you have an HDMI cable?... or the old 360 cable with Component (the 5 plug one)? Because the Arcade only comes with an RCA cable (atleat mine did). And if you have an HDTV that's sucks... though you can get HDMI cables cheap on ebay. And I'm not sure which ones the halo reach bundle comes with.

Yes, seeing as this game is way better then any FPS out right now (unless you hate arcady shooters)

where is this fact coming from?

where do most opinion posts come from on here?

If you're really only buying an Xbox for Halo Reach, then is it safe to guess you're not planning on subscribing to XBL Gold for a year or more and don't have a list of XBL people that you specifically play with?

If that's the case, why buy a $400 bundle if you don't have an open budget for gaming?

The 4GB is the absolute bare minimum for game saves and other basics, so no; it's not for regular DLC users. Buy a 16GB USB flash drive if you have to. But for $200 on a limited budget for someone who doesn't use the Xbox as their main gaming platform, it makes a bit more sense.

Should I cancel my plans to get the PS3 Move bundle next week and get the Halo Reach bundle? My friend at gamestop said that even though they're done taking reserves for the bundles, they are expecting some canceled ones to reach their store Tuesday, and that if I really wanted one that he'd put one aside for me.

I'm really looking forward to playing Resident Evil 5 via Move but I think I can put that on hold for now since I've already played RE5.

I sold my 360 earlier this year swearing that there's never going to be another game that'd make me keep my 360, but after reading some reviews for Reach today, I'm getting that same tingling feeling I had when Halo 3 released.

Should I jump in again?

what about them exclusive dancing games DM or DC could of swore you made a thread about there meta scores or some kinda bet

if you like the game alot and plan on going online alot then get a console you wont get the full experience by going to a friends house or borrowing one ect.

i would try though to play it at a friends house or whatever first before buying one but since your short in time its kinda hard to do... ah time... we live by and die by it

just go for it you could always just sell it again if you lose interest

See this is why I considered the 400 bundle. It comes with two controllers (I love having my brothers over for gaming over the weekend), a headset, and I'm assuming the HDMI cable?

So I'm going to at least put another $70 on top of that 260. Still, $330 is cheaper. But for one game ... I should have my brothers buy their own fucking controller -_-

The Halo bundle only comes with composite cables.  So, either way, add in the cost of an HDMI cable.  If you go with the XBox anyways, but it kinda sounds like you want to.

I don't know how much the different things will be worth to you, or how much time you spend on any of this, but make a list of all the games you'd get for your 360 and all the games you'd get for your PS3-Move, and see which one you want more. That's about the help I can give you to be honest.

I think you should jump in again if your planning to get more then just Halo : Reach. As for the PS Move I suggest to wait until 2011 for games like Killzone 3, Socom 4, and Sorcery to get a better experience. Unless you really want to play Sports Champions or something.

I say don't rush into purchase, hold onto your purse and wait for a bit. I'm sure Halo Reach is a great game but you're going to spend 400 dollars on one game, and no matter how great one game is, the appeal will eventually die out.

Can't really say about move either atm, since the launch line up is just mediocre but there'll undeniably be more core and quality line up later on.

I doubt that you'll get much honest answers here, MS/Reach fans will say go for Reach and likewise with move for Sony fans but they're only saying that because that 400 dollars isn't theirs to spend. Those $400 are hard-earned aren't they? ;)

Why get a console for one game? (seen as you don't think there is anything else out there for you) I wouldn't bother tbh.

I agree with Seece here, though I wonder why you sold it in the first place, this game has been announced for well over a year. But yeah, I wouldn't bother getting a console just to play one game. Then again, there could be some other game coming out that you might not know you want as apparently happened with this one.
